Fairway weeds. Not every hole was this bad, but most holes had some form of this. Even some greens had stuff like this. Photo submitted by blamege on 09/19/2022

Not worth the money
When you pay over $100 to play golf, most folks expect certain things. This experience was not that. We played The Creek Course. The only thing that felt on par with the cost, was the gated license check in at the front of the community.
First of all, the course conditions were just ok. Greens are fine. Other than that, it was on par with a municipal course. Fairways were hit and miss in their availability of tight grass. More than half of the tee boxes were small and uneven, and a handful didn’t even have grass. There were very few directional signs. Not one tee area had a hole number sign or distances. No GPS on the outdated and barely running carts.
Now to the amenities, or lack there of. When we get there we are told that it is cart path only. Even though it had not rained for several days and it was 70 degrees. Then we find out that The Creek Course does not return to the clubhouse, and there is no beverage cart….. on a Saturday. They also offered no coolers or ice. So basically, grab a pack of crackers and your beverages will be warm by hole 8. Then there is the driving range …. It’s literally the size of a large backyard with 10 spots.
All of our players traveled over an hour, to spend $100 plus, to endure a $45 municipal experience. Tried it. Hated it. Won’t be back. Don’t waste your time and money.
Cart situation induced a real mess
Unfortunately the course was out of gas for their carts, and a long delay ensued as staff tried to gas them up. We got off 30 minutes after tee time along with everyone else who was waiting on carts. With no spacing of groups, pace was a mess...we played 9 holes and asked for a raincheck, and happily club obliged, so we'll go back a play it properly.
Enjoy the Course
Played the Creek Course at Carolina Trace for the first time in about a year due to the high green fees. Found a $60 deal and enjoyed playing there again. It was still winter, so the weather wasn't perfect, and neither was the course, but not bad given the time of year. Look forward to going back if not priced out.
Carolina Trace CC - Creek Course
Shot Options- course has good shot options. 3- Downhill Par 5 w/ Plateau fairway.
Character- good setting and scenery
Condition- Greens were in great shape. Ball rolled very well and at a smooth pace. Fairway were a little soft due to recent rain, and tee boxes were in decent shape.

Sunday at The Creek Course
Beautiful day, temps at tee time 08:30 upper 60s. Staff was friendly as always. The practice range was in great shape. The course was in excellent condition, fairways were lush and the traps were in great shape. Deep sand gives the golfer a professional take on sand shots. The greens are Bermuda and played hard and fast. Rolls were true. All in all Carolina Trace would get Five Stars from this golfer.
Phill in the pro sho was very friendly
Had a great round and enjoyed a tasty lunch in the clubhouse
Was hoping for more.
Was hopeful upon arrival. Pro shop attendant was good. At $125, course conditions were not commensurate with this greens fees. If you played the ball down, ball was covered in grass clippings, and mower cuts were inconsistent (some cut , some not). Tee boxes were shaggy, and bunkers unkempt. Even more disappointing, when I saw tee times on Golf Now, at half-the-price, later in the week.
Great Course, No Amenities
I really enjoyed every aspect of the golf.
However, I don't understand how you can send people out on a course that doesn't see the clubhouse at the turn with only a water fountain every 4-5 holes (3 total) and no snack cart... Especially when temps are climbing into the high 80s.
I've only played this course once before (about 5 years ago) so I wasn't aware of the far-away turn, and no one bothered to tell me. I'm lucky I brought my own snack. I ran out of water well before reaching each water fountain.
Great Course for the location!
Excellent facilities... nice fairways and greens.. beautiful lake area.
Creek course
Booked a 11:30 tee time on golf now show up at 11 check in proceed to hit some range balls drive to the first tee to see a group of 5 in front of us then a group of 4 in front of them, no big deal friday golf gonna have to wait no problem. Tee up first drive hit it in the fairway my buddy goes to tee up and right as he does a member drives by and tells us we have to wait because they are the last group of the tournament that is being played we said pro shop didn’t say anything about a tournament member yells back we’ll go back up there cause that’s our pro shop and then drove to the senior tees, guys at pro shop were nice enough I guess offered to get us off on the other course but why wasn’t that said when we arrived? Members run this place apparently and trace doesn’t care about the public money plenty of other courses in the area avoid this one unless you are a member
Damp, great challenge
Course was damp considering not much rain recently. Bunkers in super shape. A few picturesque holes you will not forget. Greens smooth, but slow compared to other courses in area.
