Conditions getting better
Lake Junaluska GC has made improvements to some areas on the course and these improvements are making the golfing experience more enjoyable. They now have cart paths covering the entire course, and they are adding some new tee box areas to add interest to the layout and give them flexibility to rotate tee box positions while re-seeding another area. It's still a relatively short overall length, and still has some "quirky" holes where local knowledge can really help. First time players should plan to play with someone who knows the course layout to help with the "hidden shots' that are needed to give you a chance at a good score. A fun course for a quick round, and it will test your iron accuracy as several greens are pretty small targets. I'll be back!
Favorite Course In The Area
The fairways are wide and very forgiving. Not a lot of out of bounds areas and the traps are fairly placed. The real challenge comes from the island par 3’s that require a soft but accurate shot.
Overall this is my favorite course in the area!
Nice but SHORT course - but still challenging ! Got to "conquer" hole #14 !
Didn't play
Weather turned for the worse, lost my money. I will book direct from now on
Beautiful Course
Very well taken care of course. Friendly staff, challenging but fun.
Right behind a tournament
My wife and I arrived early and got right on the course. Unfortunately, we were behind a tournament so it took over 3 hours to get to the 12th hole. We waited at every hole and finally left early. I thought there would be good views of the lake, but all the views we saw were across a busy highway. The course had some blind tee shots (OK) that went across access roads. This seemed like a bad idea to me. Staff was very friendly. I borrowed a driver after mine broke.
Really enjoyed playing the course. Nice challenge
We only had time to play 9 holes, but really enjoyed the experience. The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. We are looking forward to playing all 18 next time.
Which way do I go
The course layout was confusing. Front 9 and back 9 where intermixed. Markings were not available to determine which way to go. Otherwise the course was nice and well maintained.
Different
Course was in good shape and pace of play was great. Played in the early afternoon on a Monday. The layout was a little strange. A few holes have a blind tee shot including one with a road going across 3 fairways. Not sure who is liable if you hit a car.
