My Very nice and way cool playing buddie Craig from ohio Photo submitted by DavidLaDuke on 07/22/2015
Great course
This was a great course to play and the value is very fair. The staff was very friendly and professional. Good steady pace of play and the course was in great condition even with the heavy rain we had the day before. I will definitely play again when I’m back from California.
Worth the drive
Michigander in town decided to go here on a post rainy day and was super happy with the layout and not too many corny holes that courses like to do to accommodate for shorter lengths. Just straight forward good fun golf. Highly recommend.
Best in NW Ohio
I personally think this is the best public place to play in NW Ohio. Pace of play seems to be slow every time I get up this way but the greens and fairways are always really nice.
One of the best!
Went to college in BG and went back up last weekend to visit. Stone Ridge is one of the best Courses in the area! I’ve played here a handful of times. Course has a nice but challenging layout. Wind is usually a factor. Nice driving range for a public track. A must play if you’re in the area. 18 is a tough finishing hole!
Great Course
Always a pleasure to play at Stone Ridge pristine fairways and greens always in great shape
Great conditions, average track
This is one of the best maintained public courses I have played in this area. The fairways are like carpets and the roughs will punish you. There are basically no trees anywhere on the course, which makes for easy recoveries when you miss a fairway, but also hurts the overall aesthetics of the course. Pace of play is always good, but they will pair you up if you don't have a foursome. I'm normally OK with that, but some days you just want to get out for a round by yourself or with a buddy. Because of their price, their desire to pair you up when you don't have a foursome, and their lack of trees, this course is down the list of places I choose to play.
Gem of Northwest Ohio
After playing multiple Arthur Hills' courses, there's definitely his fingerprint and holes resemble each other after a few rounds on the designs. The staff was great as the rangers kept constant attention on the pace of play as it was a full tee sheet today. The layout is great and a shot makers course. I'd definitely play this one again and everyone I ran into said they have been back multiple times. Maumee Bay was recommended to me next to play. Show this course some love nw ohio, ne indiana, and se michigan. Greens are receptive amongst the hot and dry conditions, and fairways are rolling great.
Best place to play in NWOH
Nice greens - check
Lush fairways - check
Well kept tee boxes - check
Challenging holes with hazards - check
You can't ask for much better than Stone Ridge. Besides being near houses on some holes, the place is immaculate. Never a bad lie, no dead grass or weeds, greens roll true and are fast, and overall a great layout. Overall the course has a very nice clubhouse, but depending on the day staff can be below average. No carts with food and beverage going around, if they had that you would be just about set with this course. They just got brand new carts in which have amazing seats drive smooth. The course does offer a driving range and putting green which are both nice to use. No chipping area, but you can get past that. Overall, if you are looking for country club level of conditions, for a good price, Stone Ridge is a place to try.
Really enjoyed this course. Great condition. Challenging but fair. Plenty of hazards but not too many opportunities to lose balls. Might have been nice to have a Marshall out there to keep the pace.
Great greens
Loved the condition of this course. Best public place to play in NW Ohio. Greens and fairways were awesome.
