Rating 72.9

The Harbor Pines Golf Club is a public facility that boasts an 18-hole, four-star golf course with subtle, breaking greens that provide a challenge for all golfers. The holes are very private and the fairways are wide and open.

The environment friendly course is a local favorite and is considered among women to be one of the best courses for women to play on. The beautiful natural landscape with seventeen acres of water and 520 acres of forestry has even been certified as an National Audubon Sanctuary. The relatively flat course does offer challenges for experienced golfers but it will not be too difficult for intermediate or beginning golfers. Both the 16th and 17th holes are difficult par-4's and the course has various hazards scattered throughout.

Solid course and people

Pros: Solid course, great people, good driving range to warm up, if you are single they will make sure to pair you with a really cool group if possible, they actually care about their patrons.

Cons: Not many/no Porter John’s along the course, easy to get stuck behind some people, tee boxes get beat up but not terribly.

Solid course all around.

For what?

Greens were bumpy, which is fine for early spring. We booked the first time of the day that was not $98 on GolfNow. We expected a course whose value would be close to its premium tee-time price. The greens were bumpy & bare. $98 for bumpy greens is ridiculous. My last putt of the day tracked toward the hole & hit an unseen bump two inches from the cup. The ball skipped into the air & stopped short. It’s tough to swallow that price in peak season with pristine conditions. This was far from that. When you know your course is not in tip top shape, the price to play should reflect the conditions of the course. I just returned from a trip to ATL where courses took a beating this winter. Played championship courses for less than $50 because superintendents knew the courses were beat up. Locals are playing here now, not tourists. Be realistic about what you’re offering when you set your prices & expect honest reviews from players that are willing to pay for good courses.

My Favorite Course In The Area

I will preface this by saying I enjoying playing this course great deal.
Two big problems: The greens need a lot of TLC. The tee boxes also need a great deal of help. I know this is still mainly “winter golf” but due to the mild temps this year I have played a lot of winter golf and by far the worst greens and t boxes of the courses I have played. Hopefully the grounds crew finds time to put in some work.
It got three stars only because of what this course usually is.

Early Spring Golf

This course is a great track. I play it in the early Spring and late Fall because the management discounts the off season tremendously. I've played this course three times. With that being said, I'll start off with the staff; which has been super friendly and welcoming. Each time I've played this course the course has been EMPTY. I saw two groups off in the distance! The carts are modern, clean and quick. The course layout is challenging, I played from the blues each time... so length was the most challenging obstacle. Tee boxes and fairways were all in great shape. Greens were aerated about a month prior to each of my rounds. They were fast, but had some bumps here and there, and were still a bit sandy. (I'd be afraid to see them peak season, they will be FAST!)

Overall - I love playing here. The mid - season price is too high for me to justify playing. However, during the Spring and Fall it is an absolute GEM! I'll be out there again within a week or two.

Greens punched month ago.

Bumpy greens from being punched month or two ago. Greens aren't growing in winter so never filed in. Not worth playing at this time.

Harbor Pines - President's Day

It was a good day, course in OK shape for winter golf.
A bit troubling that it was Cart Path Only, but otherwise good for winter golf.
