Homestead Springs Golf Course

Course is in awesome condition right now.

First time playing Homestead Springs with the only reason to come back is will it be in better condition in the summer? It is an average layout with a few interesting holes. The course unfortunately had aerated many of the fairways and left all the big dirt plugs on the fairway. The result, no roll in the fairway especially on a second shot that needed to go under a tree and try to run it up onto the green.

Slope and pace of greens not for the faint of heart. Course was in good shape and layout favorable though back nine drainage ditches presented some extra challenge only playing it for the second time ever.

Greens were in nice shape and faster than normal.

This is a solid course that is just outside of town.
If it has rained hard, call ahead as they do flood out pretty easily.
Some approachable greens and risky opportunities can let you score low, but if you tend to go left, you'll get behind fast early as holes 2, 3, and 4 all have OB on the left!
Back 9 feels longer with the tougher Par 5's

THIS COURSE DOES NOT DESERVE A 4 STAR RATING!! IT LOOKS LIKE A FARMER TURNED HIS CORN FIELD INTO A GOLF COURSE. IF YOUR BALL LANDS OUTSIDE THE FAIRWAY, ITS PASTURE GRASS AND WEEDS. THE GREENS ARE SMALL AND THE GRASS MUST ONLY BE CUT ONCE A WEEK, BECAUSE IT WAS LONG, EVEN AROUND THE PUTTING SURFACE. THE PICTURE ON THEIR WEBSITE, MUST HAVE BEEN TAKEN DURING THE RAINY SEASON, BECAUSE IT WAS VERY DRIED OUT. PLAY THE CUMBERLAND COURSE, ITS WORTH THE MONEY.

Good course for the average golfer. Greens were in great shape.

Course was in great shape. Was the first group off on Saturday morning and played 18 in 3 hours. Rough is very thick balls were hard to find. Overall great experience.

As stated by other reviewers on GolfNow. The owner seems to be a very rude gentlemen I also went with my wife and was told she would have to pay to ride along even though she wasn't playing and has never played ever. I've played this course for 20 years and my son and my wife have always just rode along but for now for some reason this gentleman wants to alienate families instead of bringing them together. Sometimes the only reason I will even play these courses is to have the company of my son or wife never have I been asked to pay. Sure a couple dollars no big deal dude tried for $17 for a Rider. The course itself boring greens and Fairways are excellent that can't be understated but like the other reviewers said same ol over and over again. To be treated rude like that the course isn't worth it.

My wife was unable to play,but the owner said that she had to pay to ride with me. He was very rude with us, so we left without me teeing off or playing one hole. I told the owner that we would never come back to the course and that we would relate this experience to all our friends.We have played many courses in and out of the area and this is the only time that we have been told this.

The course was in good condition and well kept, but the course layout was extremely bland and boring in my opinion. Every green was small and just a circle, no real character. Very flat course. I felt like I was playing the same hole over and over again. Staff was friendly, the course was in good shape, just too boring for me to come back to.

Course in great shape as usual. Very busy, it was a Saturday. Foursome ahead were dawdling. This place is always a solid value.

Greens were very fast but true. Great little course

Greens are in great shape, maybe the best I've seen them here. They rolled a bit slow but the grass is healthy for the end of November. Fairways were recently aerated.

Greens were great .I got on earlier than my t time.Staff is great .This is a course everyone should take time to play.

The fairways and greens some of the best I played this year. Greens are size of Postage Stamps but not a lot of trouble around them. With the green sizes you can showcase your short game. Creek runs across the course and comes into play on number of holes. 18th hole strong Par 5 at 600 yards. Great course outside Columbus, Ohio in the country.

I try to make it to Homestead as often as I can any chance I can. No matter the temperature outside, when other courses dry up or burn up, this course always is in great shape. Nice fairways and greens! The rough too, more than I'd like to mention. Great, friendly people and golf!!!

A farmer turned his field turned into a golf course in the early 70's. Yes, I asked the starter...
The trees are mature enough to cause problems if you aren't accurate off the tee. The greens are small with little undulation. Unfortunately they had just been aerated a couple days before my visit. Ill go back in a couple weeks and give it another go. If you are a longer hitter and really want to practice different clubs, you should deliberately take less than driver off most of the par 4s or you will be hitting a lot of sub 100 yard approaches.

Overall, its an easy short course with few water hazards and flat small greens. Your chipping and pitching will be tested if your approaches aren't accurate. That said, its's in nice shape for as dry as it has been the last couple of weeks. Its out in the country with no houses around it. It was pleasant and relaxed. Not too testing if you are a better golfer, but sometimes thats really not a bad thing. It would be a great place to take a friend or family member who is new to the game or not very long off the tee. I will definitely visit again.

I would make this course my to go course if it wasn't 45 minutes from the place I am staying. South East Columbus must go !
