Pipestone Golf Club
About
Pipestone Golf Course is an Arthur Hills design that has been acclaimed as the best public course in the Dayton area. The name of the course comes from blue clay soil that is buried deep in the ground. The native Indians of the area would use it for making pottery and they would call it pipestone. Nestled amongst rolling hills, the golf course offers plenty of elevation changes. The undulating greens and fairways are kept in immaculate condition but they rarely offer a flat lie. The front nine is particularly challenging with several holes that are framed with tress and crisscross over the same creek. Pipestone Golf Course's second hole is one of the toughest with a water hazards and a fairway that is severely sloped right to left.

Loved this course
Best conditioned course I have played this week. Here on vacation and found this course. I would recommend this course to everyone. Played the whit tees and it is all you want to play. Some very hard holes but very enjoyable.
Great course
First time playing and loved the course. Need to play once so you know where to hit the ball. Great condition and beautiful greens.
Josh
Most difficult course I've played in Dayton region
decent course
i would not play this course at the full price but it's a fair deal if you get a discount
Gem of a course
Grabbed a golfnow tee time at a deep discount. The course is beautiful and well maintained. This was my first time playing and I hope to return soon. After a day of rain, and about two holes worth of rain during play the course was in surprisingly good shape. We were limited to cart path travel but that worked out fine. 810 tee time, waiting a few minutes of heavy rain, snack break and off the course at 1230. So a little slow, but not the course's fault.
Always great
Pipestone is one of the premier courses in the Dayton area. Pricey unless you get a deal on GN...which I did. It was in excellent condition.
do not go
This course is way too involved with ur pace of play this was the first time a friend and I have played this course and right off the first tee we were being rushed along even tho the guy that just teed off in front of us was not out of our range. I'm not saying I strike the ball extremely far I only carry about 250 w my driver but he left then less than 5 min later the range master was telling us we had to hit and go the whole time on the course we were told to pick up our speed and keep moving faster even with slower groups in front of us. Very disappointed w ts course will never return
Slow pace of play
This was one of the slowest rounds I've played in a while but otherwise I would recommend the course. The staff was pleasant and the course was in pretty good shape.
Great value and challenging
This course is challenging with its long par 4's from the blue tees. The greens were in good shape and overall course conditions were excellent. For the price you can't beat it.
this is the challenging course for the average golfer.
The course was in excellent shape. Pace of play was very good. Fairways cut nice and short, and the rough was average, greens were fast. Had a great time, would recommend it to anybody.
A must play course
I am a really high handicap golfer and this course wasn't impossible to figure out. The most frustrating part was the pace of play, especially for a Thursday afternoon. I'm glad that I got to play it. For the hot deal discount on golf now, it was worth every penny and so much more. I hope to play it again another time.
4 some- traveled 25 miles
Nice in every way, but difficult to par. Hills, doglegs, and water, so placement is often important
pipestone is well taken care of
pipestone is in great shape. greens are fantastic fairways are smooth. this is one of the best conditioned courses in the Dayton area.
Great layout and in very good condition
All around great experience. Nice course, great layout. Friendly staff. I will be back.
great course
Love playing Pipestone. $1 beers on Friday. Can't beat it
great golfnow deal
Played at 6:40 am. First group out. Weather was fantastic. Pro shop staff was nice and got me in and out of there within 3 minutes. Grounds crew were respectful and stopped while we were close. Course was in good shape not perfect but much better than most courses in the area. Couple bunker were unplayable but overall it was nice. The greens were slightly bumpy but in great shape. Running very fast but if you hit a good shot you were rewarded. Would definitely go back again.
Great layout
I've played Pipestone numerous times I enjoy the layout of the course minus a few holes (2 & 18), to much dogleg with way to much extreme slope on both holes. The greens can be very tricky, the greens on 3, 5, & 13 can have pins where you can only get to the pins from on angle and if they are playing very firm good luck hitting chips. Overall I like the course and keep going back.
A must play
Great course! Fun layout, fairways move left to right, right to left. Only a couple of straight holes. Par 3's very challenging. Greens were fast with lots of movement. If you haven't played this course you should.
challenging and enjoyable
Fun course overall. Greens were hard to hold. Desent speed wise with lots of movement. A few funky holes but still fun to play. Would be much easier to negotiate after a couple rounds.
