Virtues Golf Club
About
Virtues Golf Club (formerly known as Longaberger Golf Club) in Nashport is Ohio's no. 1 public golf course and it's also ranked in the top 75 public golf courses in America. Situated about an hour's drive from Columbus, the Arthur Hills design tumbles across rolling hills, stretching from the ridge top down to the valley floor. Wide, undulating fairways flow seamlessly to immaculately manicured greens bordered by beautiful mature trees. The setting will make you feel as though you've been transported to southern Appalachia. You'll be greeted with stunning panoramic views everywhere you turn. Be careful though because the dramatic slopes make the golf course just as challenging as it is scenic. Multiple sets of tees keep Virtues G.C. playable for golfers of all skill levels but no matter which you choose to play from, a bevy of uneven lies await you.

No wonder it is the best public course in Ohio
I have been always wanting to play at Longaberger (Virtues), but it is a little far. Finally came out on a beautiful 'cool' Saturday afternoon and enjoyed the course. We played blue T and the it is somewhat challenging. The greens are fast and took me a while to get used to. Overall, a great course for playing and FUN!
The pace can be better as some groups were slow and I did not see rangers. Also the sand bunkers can add more sand.
This course is nasty
Best public course in state of ohio
Awesome course
This course is awesome. A little out of the way but worth the trip. Greens are fast and roll true. Great layout, you hardly ever see another golf hole and no homes on the course.
Boys gold getaway
This course has always been one of my favorites! Started playing when it was Longaberger but now its The Virtues still same beautiful layout. staff very accommodating to make your play enjoyable.
A great day of golf
The Virtues (ex-Longaberger) golf course is well worth the trip. A very interesting layout, outstanding conditions, and the smoothest greens I've experienced so far this year. Much to our surprise, the course was nearly vacant. Pace of play was obviously not an issue. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the starter - great sense of humor. We'll definitely come back.
Just OK
Course condition was just OK. Most bunkers have grass growing in them and have not been raked for some time. Greens good but have a lot of ball marks.
Overall great day
Played the course on Memorial Day. I was able to get a 11:10am tee time that same day. The course was in very good condition. Greens were rolling well. The layout of the course and the views from each hole are beautiful. Unlike any other course in Central Ohio. With green fees now around $50, it's a great value for an upscale course.
The staff was attentive and did patrol the course to check in.
My only complaint was the bunkers. There was grass growing in some of them, and some had very little sand.
Best of Ohio
It's fantastic! Course conditions have always been excellent, greens, tee boxes, fairways, nothing negative can be said. Layout, in my opinion, has to be perfect or at least near perfect. Every hole is thought provoking from considering where to hit the tee shot, where to hit into the green, and every hole has a view, all great and some spectacular. It's #1 on the OhioGolf.com list and it's my #1 of any public course I have played in Ohio. 2.5hr drive 1 way for me and that is NO problem, well worth it!
Not handicapped friendly or accessible
Course conditions were sloppy after rain Highwinds explain to counter help of my condition being handicapped or allowing me rain check for Better conditions to no avail
Hate singles
Biggest problem with course, they don't like singles as golfers, if you notice on golf now no single golfers anymore. They are all about the money. When a single calls to make a tee time, they quoted me double price what was on golf now . I guess that's why the course is never busy, charge way to much. It's sad but I guess that's why they keep getting sold, poor management .
Love this course
We played December 23!! Greens still rolled nice for being so late in the year. This course is special.
Golf in December
Outstanding course for this time of year or anytime you want to play a quality course
Great Track
One of the best in Central Ohio. Great shape! Especially in December.
Under new management
Still good and challenging course in Central Ohio. Looking forward to see what's going to be change under the new ownership and management.
Great course
It was raining and cold (46) degrees, but even in November the course was in great shape except for the sand traps, could drop the price for this late in the year
Challenging but not treated right
Reserved 1:50 tee time, pushed us back to 2:10. They had a tournament going on which they never told us. Didn't get to tee off until 2:25, took us 3 hours to play 9 holes. Had to replay front to even get 9 more holes in before dark. Very poorly run course, which is a shame. Won't be back anytime in the near future.
Best conditions of any course in central Ohio
Great greens! Great conditions all around. The staff was fantastic as well...especially the crew in the pro shop. Top notch! Pace is slow. Tough course for most. It's well worth it, but don't expect a 4 hour round. Bank on closer to 5 hr and take the time to look around. There's a post card view around every corner.
Fabulous
Get there early and make use of the unparalleled practice facilities. They are included in the greens fees and offer a lot of opportunity to get ready which you will need. In my opinion the course could be marked better with yardage stakes instead of having to rely on sprinkler heads the only reason I mention it is that I had many times where I was at a loss just due to depth perception with the rolling hills. This really applied to where my ball would end up off the tee. It was easy to under or over estimate where my drive would end up. I used the gps app from longaberger and it was helpful but crapped out a few times. Despite all this and being a bit sick I thoroughly enjoyed the course and can't wait to go back. So beautiful and well maintained. We were there in argues day and I couldn't believe how few maintenance crew we saw. For 500 acres of immaculate course I figured they would be all over the place!
One of Ohio's BEST Public Courses
I have played most of the premier golf courses, both private and public, in Central Ohio. Longaberger is, if not THE BEST public course in Ohio, has to be in the top 3. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but you get every pennies' worth!!! As picturesque as they come, challenging layout, manicured superbly, greens fast & true, and every hole is breathtaking! If you go away from this course feeling cheated, it's your fault!
