Gorgeous Course- One of the Best in Hudson Valley Hands Down
I trekked all the way from New Paltz to play the course upon recommendation from a friend. Driving up, I didn't expect much passing by all the abandoned motels, hotels, and bungalow colonies....old relics of the past glory this area once was.
Upon arrival I was surprised to find one of the most well maintained and naturally beautiful courses in the Hudson Valley. Greens were in pristine condition, didn't see a ball mark through the whole round, most importantly they rolled fast and true. The course starts on a hill goes down to the valley and ends up again, there was no short of challenges with dog legs/altitude/and multiple water holes including the island green. Spectacular views and very friendly staff was just an added bonus.
Must play. Very challenging yet player friendly.
I played the course with my brother at the end of August and the course was in great shape. The facility was run down but the course was awesome.
BEST IN THE CATSKILLS
The amenties leave a bit to be desired as the resort has been closed for years but the course remains open and wonderful Elevation changes, length and forced carries give this course plenty of challenges. Greens roll true.Four Par 4's over 410 yards from the white tees means short hitters better be able to hit approach shots and putt. Best hole on the course is the 500 Yard Par 5 where you must tee off over a small ditch and then most likely layup to an island green. Don't let the water get in your head and make sure to turn back towards the tee box from the green to see one of the best views in all the Catskills. A must play for New Yorkers!
