Membership has its rewards...NOT

Course is great, people are great...just don't become a member. They rely on stay and play and your membership means nothing because you get blocked out of T times for days on end...even a week. with no forewarning. If I’m lucky I can find out about events and "play elsewhere"
Membership is not allowed to have their own tournaments ; we are not allowed to even know who is and isn't a member. No organization is allowed...to quote a member " they take your money and could care less."

A Hidden Gem

Carroll Valley Golf course at Liberty Mountain was the perfect overnight golf destination , close to Phila, or DC and a great value for the money. Course is very scenic located in the valley at the base of Liberty Mountain ski slopes. A creek runs through the course and there are quite a few water hazards to cross. The course conditions were good, albeit the greens a bit slow but in fine condition , the rough was extra long and brutal but the fairways were wide enough to accept decent tee shots. The resort has a pub and pool& spa ,also a nice fire pit outside with local music. I highly recommend this little section of PA for a nice golf trip away from the traffic & city

Greens Slow; Pace of Play Horrendous

Have always played this course 2 to 3 times a year. Never again. Took us 4hr 50min to play a round. No marshals. Some holes on back nine had two groups waiting on the tee. Greens were also slow. Save your $$ and play Links at Gettysburg or Quail Valley.

Greens Outstanding!!

Played the end of June and the course was in great shape except for the fairways which were patchy. Fairways have improved but the greens are awesome! Kudos to the public that play this course as there were hardly any ball marks on the greens except for some par 5s and the par 3 3rd hole. Rule of thumb is to fix your ball mark and one other. They are obviously doing that at Carroll Valley. Will be back again before they aerate in October.

Hadn't Played in 15 years; great layout

Hadn't played in 15 years only because there are so many courses in the DMV area. Greens were hard & fast, bunkers & tees in great shape. Fairways were patchy. Would be on par with Links at Gettysburg if fairways were better. Marshals were extremely helpful and nice. Played as a single and was done in 2hrs 45 minutes. Would have been quicker but retrieved some balls from the creek. Will definitely be back!!

Great layout

I play a lot of courses in the area and Carroll Valley is always one of my favorites. Beautiful layout and scenery can't be beat in the Fall when the leaves have all started changing. I really enjoy the craft beer selection in their new bar after my rounds out there. Try to get on their email list, they do different specials each week. I received a coupon to comeback for only a cart fee because I purchased a green fee during the first week in November.
