Good course for an extra summer
We played a round in under 3.5 hours. Course was rock hard but it’s July and a dry year so to be expected. Tough greens but fair and better shape than the fairways. Great public course and great prices so no complaints from my guys who played with me.
Receptive greens
Course in very nice shape. Short easy course with very well maintained and receptive greens. Shot my first under par round 71 (- 1) Great deal for 25$
Glad we got the last round in a while in. No drainage - needs to dry out
Glad to sneak this last round in before the closed due to COVID-19. The course was a swamp - drainage system needs an overhaul. Not that wet lately for so much standing water and poor conditions. Greens were crazy inconsistent in speed too. Paid $20 so it was an average value.
Who knows when the next round will be for any of us. It seems like our Governor is enforcing the closures now very vigilantly and probably for good reason. Hopefully we can check the course out again in May or June.
Good Local Course
Whether you’re looking to tune up your game, or looking to just get 9-18 holes in, you can’t go wrong with playing Manada.
The staff. They are very friendly and are constantly working to help keep pace of play going, and ensure people are able to tee off at their requested tee time. The bar service is great, and provides a good place to reminisce of good times had on the course.
The course. You won’t find much trouble on this course as it is fairly open. If you’re a long hitter off the tee, I’d suggest possibly hitting a fairway wood or even a long iron off some of the Par 4 tees. Par 5s do for most players tend to play as a true 3-shot Par 5. The greens can be fast, and some greens have some challenging undulation to them. Which can be good or bad for your short game, depending on hole locations. Subtle breaks on the green van leaving you scratching your head as well at times.
Pace. This course can get VERY busy during peak time. I highly recommend a tee time to ensure you can get out to play. Although, back to the stellar staff.. if you arrive and intend to “walk-on” and play.. they will typically do their best to get you out.
Overall: A great course to refine your game on, a great course to take beginners to, and a great course to have cheap fun at.
Manada II
Couse has not had any rain in a while and was somewhat hard and dry. Front 9 played well, but I had to repeat front 9 as work was being done on the back 9 and play was slower the 2nd time around.
Great Course
Probably the best value in the area. The course is in great shape. Greens are very good. Fun course with good pace of play. Fairways are wide enough to accommodate errant shots without losing a bunch of balls or spending a lot of time looking for them.
Fun in the Sun!
I play this course on a regular basis because it is fun, and the Seniors and the Ladies get a fair break off the tees. Too many courses that I see offer a 5 or ten yard break off the tees to the older and shorter hitters, which favors the guys that hit the ball a ton. Nothing wrong with hitting the ball a ton, but lets face it. The 20 and 30 year old players do not comprise the majority of players from Monday Through Friday. Anyway, Manada is friendly to players of all skill levels, ages and genders. The fairways are manicured and the greens are the most beautiful in the central Pa area...Period. The staff is friendly and you can get something to eat or drink. What more could you ask for!!!
Superb Conditions! The Best Greens Around Period!
The course was in great shape, despite all of the rain that we have been getting. The greens are fast but receptive. Fairways are mowed nicely, without the super thick rough. The staff was very friendly and that is very much appreciated. There are plenty of golf desk clerks out there that are downright jerks. Manada Golf Club remains one of my favorite courses to play. It just never gets old. Highly Recommended.
Manada
Nice country setting with easy intetstate access. Driving range, putting greens available. Has a bar for a drink afterward and light food/snacks.
Good public course
Good public course for the money. I have played here often, not the best but always playable, good value for the money. Can play slow at times but that is typical of most courses today, with fewer golfers every year no one is going to chase away customers. They keep up with maintenance and mowing and do try to make minor improvements. Greens are usually fast but can get a little beat up, it seams fewer and fewer golfers repair ball marks or rake traps then they ........ about conditions. Course has a bar and serves beer only, some sandwiches. Staff is friendly.
Send your mowers through the course backwards
Played a round with a buddy and a worker was mowing the tee boxes. He literally started on 1 and followed us the entire round. Have your guys start on 18 and go backwards, then they’re not just following a grouping all day. Had to hit out of the tee box with a huge tractor idling behind us on every hole. Really got annoying. If you have them go backwards they won’t track a group all day, but rather can mow between groups.
Nice place to play
Course a little rough from weather this year but still playable.
Conditions and price
Greens hard to read but excellent condition. Course in excellent condition.
Manada
Had a lot of rain prior to my tee time, so it was cart paths only. Course was rough but went smoothly.
Decent course for the price
Not the best layout; a lot of side by side holes. People were hitting from each fairway back to their fairway. Bunkers were very rocky, had to pull my ball out often just so i wouldn't ruin my clubs. No scenic holes, very bland.
Pros: very nice staff and they are open almost all year long. They also offer very low prices.
