Typical western Pennsylvania Course

Like many of the coin the area - up the hill and then down the hill. Course is nothing spectacular, but if you have the right expectations, you will enjoy yourself.

This is a great golf course for what you pay. I have been playing here for years and the course maintenances is much better then it has been in the past. The greens are the best I have seen them. This is a golf course going in the right direction.

Nice Course

Ponderosa is a nice, but somewhat unremarkable course. Shoot here a handful X's per year and find that as long as the play moves along, we generally have a good day. Course is walkable, but just barely. Fair amount of up and down, sideways lies, and blind shots common with Western PA golf. Course not terribly hard or long, but the greens are usually in better than average condition and roll true. Back nine layout surpasses the front which has a couple quirky holes.. Price seems a couple bucks expensive for the quality of the course, but the convenience factor for Western Pgh suburbs will keep me coming back.

Pretty good condition for just out of winter

Just played this course for the first time. The course was in great condition for coming right out of winter. Pace of play was around 4 and a half hours. The layout didn't suit my taste. A TON of up and down hills. The staff was nice and the price was great. Average course that is decently taken care of at a great price.

I SHALL RETURN

Our group showed up on time and the tee time was available. It offered all the challenge we needed. The course has the best par threes on a public course that I have played in a long time. The traps were raked and ready for play(a rarity on most public courses). My only con is that I would have liked the greens to be a little faster.

Still poor

Staff is the worst part of the course. Terrible experiences here multiple times. The course is maintained... not good, not bad, just average. Could use new cart paths or repairs for the existing ones. Food is ridiculously overpriced. No rain checks? Ouch.

Great course, great value and great scenery!

Ponderosa Golf Course is a hidden treasure. A great course for a great price. They have some of the best landscaping that I have ever seen at a golf course. Very well maintained and the greens were great. I played this course in October with a great deal of the leaves already fallen from the trees. The grounds crew kept up with the removal of the leaves. There were still a few holes that had a descent amount of leaves, which obviously led to a few lost balls, but I had a great time and some of my best golfing at the Ponderosa. There are a number of challenging holes and some rather easy ones. The hot dogs at the snack bar were the best that I have ever had and the staff was very friendly. The bar and restaurant were very nice and busy. I highly recommend this course to any golfer.
