Landis Creek Golf Club

The course itself is great. Very muddy at certain points but it had just been raining plenty in the past few weeks so can’t knock them for that. The only thing really holding the course back is being surrounded by townhomes at pretty much all but 2-3 holes. It just takes away from the calming experience that I enjoy in playing golf.

I normally don’t review bad tracks as it’s always great to be on the course, but STAY AWAY.

I foolishly though Landis Creek would be similar to Turtle Creek across the street. That couldn’t be any less true.

Tee boxes were more dirt than grass and hard as a rock. Fairways were inconsistent and half dirt. Rough was no different than the fairway.

Course was gimmicky with random manmade ponds that add nothing to the experience. Not one memorable hole on the whole course.

Save your $60 and avoid this dirt track.

An afternoon round should be a bit cheaper but it was ok

Green aireated but overall good price for afternoon.

The course clearly hadn’t been watered in weeks to even possibly months. The fairways were dried out and a lot of the grass was burnt or dead. A few of the tee boxes had crab grass and were impossible to stick a tee into. Dirt would kick up on the fairways after the ball’s first bounce on several occasions. The greens were aerated the week before we went and then seemingly over-sanded, clearly not watered, and the pro shop worker told us they were cut as well, which he even admitted was a bad idea. Probably 30% of the aeration holes weren’t filled in.

Pace of play was abysmal. It took us 15 minutes to tee off on hole 7 after finishing hole 6, and had to wait another 5 minutes to hit our approach shots after teeing off. It didn’t seem like it was due to slow players, but rather the course being entirely overbooked. A few tee boxes were unplayable, with trees and weeds blocking half of a teebox on several holes. It wouldn’t just be a matter of one teebox or two per hole, but several tee boxes on the same hole. We decided to only play 9 instead of the full 18 after the front 9 took over 2.5 hours to play. The pro shop worker was very understanding and offered a 9 hole raincheck to all of us.

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and this review is only indicative of the poor course maintenance and unreasonable pace of play. If the owners decided to maintain the course properly and manage pace, then this would be a great course. The features were fun but the quality was well below sub-par The potential is there for this to be a good course we put in the rotation but the execution and investment needs to be improved drastically before my group of friends and I ever consider going back.

If you want to pay $72 to play a dogtrack this is the course for you. If you love half of the holes to be tight and short gimmick holes lined by houses you will love Landis Track

Just an overall crappy golf course. Rough is just normal grass you'd find in your backyard. There's those little white flower/weeds and clovers all over the fairways and rough. Every bunker had a puddle. Couple of the greens had massive scraps across it. Layout was average at best - not a single memorable or aesthetically pleasing hole. just a glorified muni that we paid almost $50 to walk - not worth the money at all considering Turtle Creek (STUNNING COURSE) is directly across the street.

Greens were good with a few rough spots on some greens. Bunkers were good with about an inch of sand over a firm bottom. It was easy to spin the ball out of them. Fairways were hard and the ball really ran on them. The bad news is a lack of water. The rough is already burnt out in some places and the fairways are starting to suffer. The course needs rain in the near future. I don't recall seeing any sprinkler heads but we were not looking for them..
We will play here again.
