Good trip to the Fort
Had not played here yet this year. Previously had liked the course but the staff was sub par and to me that is important. While the course was getting a good amount of play while we were there we ended up playing around pretty quickly which is always more enjoyable. The course conditions were quite good (tee boxes in good shape, fairways very nice, greens in good shape, etc.). Staff was friendly and helpful. I would play here again soon. Another reason I have not played here before yesterday is that they do not seem to offer tee times after 4 or 4:30 and my time to play is often later in the day.
Pace of play nightmare
4:07 tee time and took 5 hours to play. Imagine trying to play at a peak tome
Great greens and tee boxes
Nice course for the money. The past two times playing, in the past two weeks, the green have been in really good shape. Fast. The only slow part is pace of play. Decent amount of beginner or intermediate players and tends to go slower.
Overall fairways and greens were in good condition
In the military we called it a cluster &?!*. No mention of an outing which was jammed up at multiple holes. Starter allowed multiple people to go out before their actual tee times in front of us. Most of the EEs were not friendly. Had to stop after nine due to outing backup on #10. Approx 3 hours for 9 holes.
No Order
Groups of 6 - 8 all over. Blasting music, teeing off 3 to 4 times each. Just no order at all on the course. Front 9 took us 3 hours and 15 minutes to play. Our cart got locked and was told to call a number prompted on the GPS screen in the cart. Called 15 times and no one answered. After playing the front 9 and seeing group up on group backed up on 10, we went to the front 9 and played that again. I would never come back here again, at least on a weekend. For $50 there should be some kind of marshal presence.
Thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for your recent experience. We're sorry to hear you were less than satisfied during your round. We pride ourselves on our providing great service and the high-quality standards we maintain. We would like to make things right. Please reach out to our management team at the pro shop. We hope to hear from you soon.
Decent Course
Tired and sleepy staff. Will complain about making your tee time via Golf Now. Driving range was close because they didn't have anyone to pick balls. The course is wide open. Not too many places to go OB. The fairways were in great condition if you can get one to stay. Fairways were somewhat gimmicky as most of them were severely sloped. I'd think I would be right down the middle to find out I was 4 feet in the 2nd cut/rough. The greens were nice. Rolled true and were really fast the day I played. Felt the greens were the most challenging. No cart issues like others have said (however, I wasn't in the trees or fescue areas). Overall, I'd play this again. It won't be my go-to, but it's a course to sharpen up your skills.
Irritating Cart Alarm
Overall we had a great time - On serveral holes though, even though we never strayed far from the cart paths and Alarm would go off in our cart saying we were approached forbidden territory and our cart would lock. Stopping play for severalminutes while we actually call the pro shop to have our cart turned back on. I understand why they have this but driving on a cart patch that is realativly closeto the green should lock down the cart, After the third or fourth time I had had it with the course. Freaking PGA courses aren't as bad and they have better courses to "protect"
I won't come back. I brought friends from VA who live on a very nice Country Club and they couldn't believe it. Tey found it quite odd that mgmt would risk pi$$ig folks off by stopping plsy for 5 minutes while phone calls are made and carts are 'unlocked' remotely
Not only affecting my foursome but all the players behind us. We skipped number 11 after the turn so we could space out the groups a little.
I will pass the word that this course discourages quick play with such trivial technological antics
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Fort Cherry Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Good condition
Both the greens and fairways are in good condition
Unfriendly staff
We arrived for a 1:40 tee time & the pro shop worker was very rude since we “made our time online”. The course isn’t terrible but extremely overpriced for normal pay. We played back in March on one of the first days they were open and it was 48$ a piece for 18 riding. Absurd price for the time of year & the condition of the course at the time. They do not do winter rates at all which surprised me and the pro shop staff was very ignorant to us for no reason at all. Recommend avoiding this place, i won’t be playing there again unless there’s another hot deal for under 20$ because that’s all it is worth here.

Good time
Nice course. 15 and 16 were cart path only which was really inconvenient. It didn’t rain for the past week and they’re on a hill so I’m not sure what is causing those to be cart path only. Carts are so annoying with the restrictions. Other than that it’s a nice course.
Really nice course
Was visiting Pittsburgh and had some occasional golfer friends meet for a round. This course was perfect! Everything is pretty visible from tee to green, no blind shots. Greens are big and accessible. Maintenance crew does an excellent job, and were very friendly while working around us. Proshop staff and starter seemed genuinely pleased to welcome us to the course. Pace of play after early tee time, even with cart path only, was quick, under 4 hours. If I played this course regularly I'd definitely walk it.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
