THIRD HOLE: Difficulties at three come on the drive, but here the approach shot (to a slightly elevated green) is less taxing. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
FOURTH: Elegant looking hole and also the easiest on the front at a mere 103 yards. But you’re only getting a breather between three and five. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
FIFTH: The front side’s toughest hole, this can turn demonic after any big mistake. Downhill all the way and 426 yards. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
SIXTH: Handsome downhill par-3. Things become a bit more spacious around the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
SEVENTH: Picturesque tee-shot with a pond on the left and a tree-lined fairway. Line-drive tee shots into those trees, however, are not encouraged. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020

Good and getting better
Good collection of holes - fair for beginners and challenging enough for low handicappers. Began playing here this fall and intend to play here often next season. I know it's Dec and not too many more golf weather days remaining - but a priority should be on blowing the greens and tees, running the trap rake machine around the course at least once a week.
Not sure what can be done from the pro shop - an appeal to all who play to please show some respect the course and the game by repairing ball marks and other damage to the greens and cups - replacing divots - etc
Much improved and getting better.
Melody Hill is a great round of golf for the money - nice layout and it's apparent that new management knows what they're doing and that this course will only get better. Looking forward to next season and many enjoyable rounds here.
Pleasant experience
Always a good time over here. Course is on the shorter side. Layout makes it a challenge with its doglegs. Greens are challenging. Course was in great shape for fall golf.
Melody Hill on Nov. 4, 2017
I took up golf again about a year ago after not having played for many years, and have played at Melody Hill a number of times over the past year.
It's an 18-hole course which is in good shape and the new owners are making improvements. There was a major autumn storm here in the past week and the greens and tee boxes were pretty clean when we played a few days later. We teed off at around noon and didn't have any wait times during play.
The course is challenging but manageable for a low to intermediate level player, and friends who are good golfers play at Melody frequently. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The lounge/restaurant is comfortable, with TVs, tables, a bar, and a reasonable menu.
A friend who also took up golf again this year plays with me frequently at Melody Hill, and we feel at home here. I recommend the course if you're looking for a casual, comfortable day on the course!
Melody Hills is in the Way Back!
I hadn't played there in years due to the deterioration of the course under the previous owner, but heard that new ownership was working hard to improve playing conditions. This is definitely the case. The fairways are much improved , and the greens are coming along. I have always liked the layout of the course. If you haven't tried Melody Hills, or played it in a long time, give it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. For the price, it's a great deal.
This course was in very good shape
The course was in very good shape considering they had a storm the day before and lost a lot of branches.
When you play in the fall, you always have to compete with the leaves, but the course did a good job of keeping the fairways clear.
I was able to get a military discount which is why my cost was lower then usual.
I would recommend this course for military personnel.
Worth the value
Course was in great shape. Course was challenging but not to hard for my abiliities.
I would play there again
$12 for 18 holes with a cart on golf now, can't beat it. Tee boxes were nice, fairways weren't bad bud could be better, greens were challenging, but overall a nice course with almost nobody in front or behind. From what I hear it is under new ownership and the grounds crew is doing a good job improving course conditions.
Give This Place Another Season or Two...Perfection!
What a great course...in just a little more time and with continued effort this place will be a destination to seek out. The true "Vesper Velvet" greens are to die for as there are not many places left in New England that have this strain of bent grass developed by the late Manual Francis Sr. It takes plenty of effort to keep these greens the way they were rolling during this round. Everyone in the foursome either pitched in or dropped a forty foot bomb...the greens were so true. The layout is very interesting...the par three's being particularly testy. It helped greatly to have been paired up with some members who made the round quite rewarding with their knowledge of the course. The staff was outstanding...they might not want to see me back here but I'll try to force myself on them again and soon.
The course has Vastly improved under new ownerhip
Pace of Play great, greens in good condition, fairways are greatly improved. Keep up the great improvements new ownership!
Getting ready for greatness
They are really making headway in getting this course in ship-shape. It will probably take about 2 years before everything is worthy of a great course
The New Melody Hill
The new partnership at Melody Hill is paying off. The course is in the best shape for this time of year as it has been in several years. The course will only continue to improve as the over-seeding and landscaping campaign continues. Kudos to the new management team / grounds crew. (You need to understand where this course came from a year ago to where it is now to truly appreciate it!) The pace of play was really good until a twosome jumped on the back 9 to start their play - causing waiting on the tee for the next 7 holes - even though we were a foursome. Staff were friendly and helpful. This course has a really good layout so as the grounds improve it will truly be a great place to play.
