Located just outside of Columbia, The Windermere Club sits along the banks of the lake that it takes its name from. Pete Dye designed the golf course, crafting a number of memorable holes. It's his only design in the Midlands. No two holes are alike on this challenging layout, so expect to use every club in your bag. The golf course offers a variety of risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to both low and high handicappers. There are also five, and sometimes six, tee boxes on every hole, making the golf course even more appealing for any skill level. The fairways are generous but lined with mature hardwoods and there are strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Golfers at The Windemere Club will also encounter subtle but tricky elevation changes and several lakes and ponds.

Better in spring or summer

The wind is difficult on this course with so many water holes. I think once the grass is back and thriving, the greens will play a lot better. Felt like spring but still played like a winter course.

Pete Died

Wanted to play this course for a while due to the 4 star rating. The layout was very fun and the course was well designed. I wish the course had been maintained better it still has a lot of potential. The price wasn't worth the conditions. Weeds everywhere, a few dead spots on the greens(not to bad, didn't affect my round at all) bunkers weren't good, and the cart path was super bumpy, my cup kept jumping out of the cup holder. I enjoyed the round but this is not a 4 star course. It's a 2.5 star course.

Great course layout

Great course as each shot is never flat. Fairway and tee box needs work. Greens were okay. It's the winter, so can't expect too much. Staff is always friend and service is always great. If they up keep this summer, it will be a great course.

Fun challenge

I will come back to learn from my mistakes. What a fun time, even though it was in the low 40’s that day. Beautiful layout and nice views throughout the round. I will be back.

Great value

Course is one of Pete Dye’s lesser known courses. Course was in great condition amid the season. Greens rolled true and were in good condition. Fairways and tee boxes were also in good condition. Other than some minor construction on the first hole the course was great. Highly recommend playing the course.

Lots of potential

Beautiful layout of course, but tee boxes and fairways need a good bit of work. Clubhouse needs TLC and makeover. Very nice staff. Pace of play needs to be moderated and tee times need more spacing and management. It took us three hours from our scheduled tee time to play front 9 due to the backlog and slow play.

Conditions are improving

It was not long ago, maybe couple of years this course was in bad shape. The new greens are in good condition fairways are ok, not lush. Rough is average. Tee boxes slightly below average. Bunkers need some work to be average or better.
