Oak Hills Golf Club
About
Oak Hills Golf Club sits near the state capital but it doesn't feel like it's located in a city. It has a peaceful and picturesque setting. The golf course rolls across gentle hills studded with oaks, pines, and beautiful dogwoods. Some of the greens are rather undulating and a few are elevated as well. Most holes are framed by trees or water. There are some challenging holes but the layout doesn't present anything too intimidating for beginners. The golf course finishes with one of its most memorable holes. From the elevated tee on this par 5, golfers will get a panoramic view of nine different holes.

Nice Course
Wife and I played while visiting USC. Very friendly staff. Course was in good shape. Greens were challenging. Will play again when down in Sept.
Nice layout
Was in town for The Masters and played with my buddy. It is a nice track and has some scenic holes and a nice layout. A lot of elevation changes on the holes and undulation on the greens. If this is your first time playing be sure to tell the starter and get a course guide. There are a couple holes that have false fronts on the greens and you will not be able to hold it if you come up short. A few border on unfair. The greens keeper must of had a bad day the night before because the day we played he selected a few holes placements that your could not get your ball close and stay and putting was impossible. All in all a nice course and in good condition for this time of year.
Quick greens
Staff was friendly. Course was in nice shape. Cart paths need some work, but that's a minor consideration. Greens rolled really nice. Excellent test.
Very nice
Flew into Columbia for the Masters and wanted to play a course near by and found Oak Hills. Very nice layout, reasonably priced. Greens were in good shape. Staff was friendly, but the pace of play was very slow. Overall good experience and will play agin. Recommend this course to anyone in the area.
Best $16 Round Ever
This course is tough and feels more like a private course than a semi-private/public one available for $16 on GolfNow.
The Club House has a great grill and a nice selection in the Pro Shop. The Course has a nice Oak Hills shrubbery architecture. The Greens are fast and the undulating fairways coupled with the design beat you up. 18 has two ravines and is one of the easier scoring holes on the course.
Friendly and Helpful Staff
My wife and I played on this course on our way to Myrtle Beach. This is a great course for players of all levels. My cart was stuck in mud near #4 green, but the staff was very helpful and in time with a simple call to the pro shop. Someone came over and got us out of mud really timely. When I returned the cart, the staff was very friendly waiting even it was late of the day. I will definitely go back and play again.
Cold and windy but better than rain
This course it's always looking great, cart paths got damage with past intense rainy days but it's totally understandable, great facilities, very friendly staff, thumbs up......I'll be back soon...
Nice course
Extremely busy day (Sat after Thanksgiving) but pace OK. Course challenging and in fairly good shape. Enjoyed the round with son-in-law. Green fees very reasonable. Fairways were dormant and greens looked to be spray painted but greens putted true and relatively fast. Definitely would play again when I return to the Columbia area. Have played elsewhere in the area and found this course as nice as most.
Great course
Very challenging course is in really good condition
Awesome
I love oak hills. Have played here a hand full of times. While there are some challenging holes its a great course to play. And you can score well if you are playing well. With all the rain we keep getting the course was a little soggy but other than that it was great. Only bad part is bunkers don't drain very well but they were trying to fix that on a few of them.
Good not great
Well constructed course, nice views, greens are fine. Only complaints are major bumpy cart path, also No ball washing stations! What the heck!
enjoyable course
Course is in great shape considering the resent floods. Greens are challenging, but not ridiculous. Beautiful course, decent club house with friendly staff. Great place to spend the morning.
Good experience
Oak Hills is a good course in very good condition. I have played it many time. It hAs s good variety of holes from easy to hard and a good challenging course. It had wider fairways and is not so punitive off the tee. Greens are in great shape. It was not crowded when I played.
Course was in great shape
Got a great deal on golfnow.com... we were only a 2some so they paired us up with 2 other guys. The course was in the best shape I've seen all year. Had a good round and made 2 new friends.
Excellent Columbia Course
Another great round at Oak Hills. The course is always in great condition.
Excellent for money
I was impressed. Great condition. Greens were a little firm but rolled true and in very good shape. Layout was challenging (played gold tees ). Would play here again
Course conditions
This the second time playing, the fairways and greens are in good shape. The plays long and there some challenges, the greens were fast. Mike loaded our cart and was very friendly.
Conditions not as good as last time
i came back to play here after playing here about 4 weeks ago. The course conditions have declined since then. The greens were bumpy and seemed they were recently punched with small air holes. The fairways and tee boxes were beat up as well. I understand the weather has been hot and sunny but the green conditions were very disappointing.
great layout, great greens
Course was in top shape despite rain all the day before and damp conditions early.
Greens were in great condition.
Quality course
First time playing the course this year in good condition considering the recent hot weather. Greens in excellent shape along with fairways. Look forward to playing again. Definitely worth the price
