Cypress Point in Goose Creek is one of the most popular par-3 golf courses in the Santee area. It is an excellent track for beginners or those who are not yet up to the challenges of a full-length course. The course is also great for those who like to walk their round. There are a few subtle changes in elevation, enough to provide some interesting challenges, but nothing overly dramatic. There are four ponds that come into play on the golf course and the bunkering is minimal but strategically placed. The layout is great for working on your iron game, no matter what skill level. It is an especially tough test on windy days. At Cypress Point, there are even more ways to get in some practice with a driving range and putting green for golfers to use as well.

Cypress Point Warning

I have never played golf at a course in such poor condition. The greens are unputtable and the only type of grass on the entire property are weeds. The Staff was rude and obnoxious. Don't make the same mistake I did...avoid this DUMP SITE!

Par 3

The greens were rough on most holes. Most of the nine holes have no cart path.
Better signs are needed to navigate from hole to hole!
I will not return again.

very poor condition

Greens were awful, dried out, with weeds. Holes look like they never are changed and pins are. on sloops. Ball wouldn't hold green and chipping was from hard pan.

Lets you swing the clubs!

This is a par 3 course and you can tell that it isn't a high end golf course by any means but it is an extremely cheap deal that lets you get out and swing some clubs. There is no reason at all to use a driver or hybrid of any sort on this course but it really allows you to get some valuable time swings your irons. I didn't eat anything while we were there but i would recommend this course to someone that is looking for an inexpensive enjoyable afternoon with your buddies or family.

Great Value

This is a good beginner course, inexpensive to play, but the quality of the tee boxes and greens is pretty shoddy. But, 18 holes for $14 is tough to beat. Driving range area was well maintained and satisfactory. Definitely recommended for beginners and those who wish to sharpen their approach game.

How are you getting 18 for $6?

I am just curious how I see people here paying $6 for 18 holes. We had to pay $14. And the course is ok for par 3. Nothing fancy. couple holes are confusing first time where to go. It looked like 3 was straight ahead but when we got down there it was hole 6. Someone playing 6 told us where we had to go for 3. The greens are not good, lots of sand grass mix, so putting is not good.

You can find the $6 deal on golfnow.com. It changes in price but you can find the deal every so often.

Great Layout

Like the title says--fantastic layout. The greens were in poor condition. If the course was kept up, this would be an extremely beautiful and enjoyable place to place to play! But I only paid $5 to play, so I can't complain too much. It was good to get out and hit some shots at the pins.

It's a par 3

I got a really good deal on golfnow so I can't complain about the price. The course is really short. The longest holes are 145 so I didn't use over a 9i. The greens aren't in good condition. But, when playing a par 3 you're just going out to have fun and practice. It also has a driving range.

Unique place to play

You should only play at this course if you want something really cheap or need to play a round in just a couple of hours. Cypress has the worst greens in existence. You literally are playing on dirt. Hole 2 is a mud pit. There are small ponds covering a few holes so the slightest mishit could mean water. Beginners must bring 10 balls. However, all these holes are 100 - 140 yards so it's great to work out the kinks in your wedges. And the ability to get in a round before work is a nice luxury.

Great place for practicing your short game

We played 9 holes in 1 hour, excellent practice time when short on time. The greens we a little dry, considering how much rain we have had. Too much standing water on the course. Tee areas need cutting. Tee to green distances were severely inaccurate. Overall it was enjoyable and my wife and I will definitely play the course more frequently, if we can get good rates through Golfnow.com
