This should be the worst course in Columbia South Carolina
Don't like this course. Probably won't come to play again
Deteriorating
Sorry to see this course deteriorating. Greens were almost nonexistent. I might play there again if the cost was $5.
Don't Waste Your Time
This course needs help. The staff was friendly and the food was fine, however my 1 star rating on everything is because I want to make sure that the point is made that this isn't a course anyone should play. Only 4-5 holes at most are completely playable. The tee boxes are like hitting out of sandboxes. The fairways are like unmowed cow pastures with grass so high you will be playing in rough most of the day of you can find your ball. The greens are more like sand boxes with no green at all. Please save your money and find a course that is an actually golf course and not someone's backyard dream of owning a golf course who doesn't know how to make it in to one.
sad
It's sad the way this course has been let go. I would imagine that at one time it was worth playing. We were told that the course has not been aerated in three years. The "greens" aren't, some have browned to the point of no grass, dried cracked mud and sand await you one the putting surface.
Horrible conditions
This place was a pasture. The greens are dead and just mounds of compact dirt. Nothing is green and the course shape is just horrible. Everything is brown and dead and mostly playing on dirt and no grass. I will not be going back at all to play this course.
Awful greens
it would be nice if they took some pride in their greens and fairways. Fairways were so bad You couldn't tell if you were in fairways or rough. Just a giant pasture.
Greens were awful. On a perfect putt the ball would just go right or left due to the non manicured nature of the green.
I would avoid this course unless you were desperate or just too lazy to drive an extra 15-20 mins to a real course.
Won't play it again.
Didn't enjoy the round. The course needs some TLC badly.
This course is in terrible condition
The rates area ridiculous, considering the condition of course.
This course is in terrible shape
The fairways have not been cut in weeks. The traps have little if any sand. They are losing their greens and tee boxes.
more golf bang for your buck$$$
For the price you pay you couldn't ask for a nicer environment and friendly pace of play. The greens are a little rough and the facilities are out dated but it is an exciting layout.
Spend more to play a course worth playing
Green were all burnt and covered in weeds, not grass. Half the tee boxes were more like a sand trap then. Tee box. The fairways were nothing but weeds. On one hole the ranger told us not to drive on the par 3's, we were in the pine straw next to fairway, not on the actual fairway. So after he yelled at us, he drove down the entire fairway and right next to the green as he was continuing his rounds. So if you want so-so conditions and a staff that is rude for no reason, then by all means play Rawls Creek. But I will spend a few bucks more from now on and play a real golf course, not a weed pasture.
As expected
The course was in as good of shape as can be expected in January. We had good weather, and the staff was friendly as usual.
Good Value
Fun,hilly course. Close to home.
Great group of members, always looking to enlarge
their membership so can continue making course
improvements.
This course is in poor condition
Fairways are hard, sloped, and not real fairways...like pastures...greens were poor condition...over all course was in poor condition...short par 4's...long par 3's...I would not recommend the course if you are use to playing nicer courses
This course has troubles
This is a course that appears to have very little maintenance. Several of the tee boxes are all sand,
several greens have some kind of fungus in them, the grass in the fairways have weeds growing,
there is a local rule for the bunkers that you can move the ball and rake an area before you hit out.
If your looking for a place just to practice its okay.
Great staff terrible conditions
Played on labor day. Was well over a 5 hour round. Backed up with no starter from the get go. Greens were decent but the rest of the course was cow pasture at best. Tee boxes on par threes with no grass and all around terrible conditions. Staff was super friendly
Fairways hard and dusty
I've play Rawls Creek a few times and this was definitely as bad of shape as I've seen the course. Hitting from the fairways was like hitting from concrete. Very little greenery, as if we have been in a drought (we have not). Many of the greens have black rubbery patches.
Definitely not worth the $38 we paid - should have been in the low $20s at most.
Very bad
Greens are horrible. All fairways have some sort of slope. The ball will always be well below or above your feet. Very hilly course. They should not have built this course on this kind of land. Very inconsitant rough areas through out the entire course. The creepy "course ranger" will also harass you and fallow you around a lot. The bored old guy will continue to try to talk to you and slow our game down. Stay away.
Fairways and Greens Awful
Got cheap rate thru golf now app and wish I could get a refund. Course in horrible shape and made round tough to enjoy.
Course stinks, everything else is good
Layout's not bad, but this course is in terrible shape. Pro shop and Bar employees are always nice, food's always good, decent drink prices. The course just ruins your day though.
