good course
the course was good except for the very slow play.
Enjoyable
Very good greens with a good bit of slope and pretty fast. Tee boxes are mostly dirt, but this course gets a lot of play and it’s expected for winter conditions. Fairways are above average for this area. This course is in an in-town location and stays busy. Pace of play was slow and usually is. I played with 2 other guys and it took 5 hours, which is not unusual there for a midday start. If you hate waiting on the tee, it’s not for you.
nice day, nice course
This is the 2nd time I've played Golden Hills and enjoyed its layout where it will definitely challenge the experienced golfer but allows some room for the higher handicappers (Like me) to not be penalized too much for errant shots. Greens in very good condition. Fairways, rough and fringe though are still in winter like conditions where your are mostly playing off of bare ground or very thin lies which makes it tougher to get the ball up in the air.
Tough 11 and 14
Course is in excellent shape Staff is amazing and friendly.
Very good greens
Maybe they overbook. But can get really slow at times. Not a fan of #2 green and hole #10. But good course and value if can get it on hot deal tee time. Just be prepared to play slow.
Nice course - lots of sloped greens
Overall this is a nice course with a number of water holes and doglegs to challenge your game. There were a couple of holes where I felt the homes along the course was a bit too close to the fairways for my liking which was a bit intimidating if your swing is a bit unpredictable with a hook or a slice. So I held back a bit on those holes. Also there are no easy putts on the greens! They are very slick and have a good amount of slope what seemed like every hole.
Also a big thumbs up to Chuck who runs the cart area. He introduced himself and gave me a number of pointers about the course and made me feel most welcome!
Consistently consistent
Never a bad round here. Place has great drainage, friendly members and is in excellent shape. Back 9 is a little tight with the backyards, but nothing unreasonable.
Great drainage!
Played after a rainy week and on a day where it had dumped in the morning. Fairways and greens were still firm and my shoes weren’t even muddy.
Had a member join up with us on the back 9 and had a great time. Will return.
Andy Davis Review
Close, clean and friendly. Course is in great shape. Challenging pen placements with a few tight fairways. Can be crowded so playing under 4 hours isn’t always a given. My go to course for sure!
