Beautiful Course
Please understand that for the golf now price I’m willing to slow down significantly. The course and greens are in great shape for the green fees I paid today. This is my second time getting stuck midway through the front 9. I would love to see a ranger at the par 5 moving things along. This is where the jam is happening, so I would recommend taking down the cart path only sign and recommended drops for those who like to smash 3 in the woods before they start the hole.
Good Day with my son
This was a return visit to this course. Being 79 years old with some health issues it was a very enjoyable day with my son. We also carried my grand-daughter who I am trying to get interested in golf. She did not play but got the experience of being on a golf course for 18 holes and seeing what goes on. We just took 2 of the spots for our particular tee time and they paired us with a very nice young man who only wanted to play nine holes. We really enjoyed the day.
Getting better and better!
You can certainly tell that the new ownership is sinking their profits right back into the golf course. The greens were true and the fairways were great. We teed off as early as possible to try and beat the heat but mother nature had other plans. 90+ at 9:00 am. Will certainly be back again. Wished my home course was this nice!
Great course and staff
We were in town for a wedding and looked up this course on GolfNow. Rates were very reasonable and the course was in great shape with great views at each hole. Highly recommend Legacy to anyone wanting to play.
Great course
Played it from the tips and it is a great course which takes some course management. Several holes are a bit weird such as a par 5 that goes straight up hill with a slight dogleg but survivable. Great staff.
Pagan place
Was not aware that it was a pagan temple built there when we got there.
Legacy Pines formerly Hejaz Shrine
Challenging layout of what could be a great course. Burned up and not watered. Mowing fairways in middle of the day with no sign of being watered. Did I mention, no water. No chipping on or near putting green and an iron only driving range. Some minor grounds work underway but not interfering with normal play. Slow play was another issue but that can happen anywhere. The price and location led me to play this course and I did not read prior reviews.
Legacy
Came in as SIIGLE. Had a good time and played with 2 other GN users. Made some friends.
They have a lot of work being done.
Course was overbooked the day I played. Had a golf now reservation and had to wait 15 min later to tee off. They have been doing a lot of work to make improvements and it will look great once things are grown in. There is no marshal to speed things up, and they allow groups of 5 (if you are a member)to hold people up. The golf now price was higher than the normal price I paid last time after all the fees were added. The tee boxes are in pitiful shape and most of the greens have fungus on them. All the recent rain has taken a toll on this course.
Fairways In Bad Condition
Fairways in very bad shape and will need a lot of work to make this an enjoyable round of golf.
Good course, could be better
I enjoy playing at Legacy Pines and it’s good value for the money you spend. It would be nice to see better fairways and tee boxes but it has come a long way from what it used to be. Very friendly staff.
Great course
Course in great shape! New owners have been steady making improvements over the last year and it shows. Hole 8 has been reworked and will be great when grass greens in fairway.
Good greens, decent price, some fun holes
Greens were in good shape being the beginning of the season. Rolled true and fast. There's a challenging par 5 up a giant hill on the course along with a couple scenic par 3's.
Bring your shot making skills
A lot of sloping fairways from right to left and vise versa. Precision shot making is a premium here and knowing the slopes of the fairways i a premium also. Many shots will roll off the fairway if you don't play the slope correctly. Very challenging golf course, early season blues with winter grass still very prominent. Nice scenery, pleasant course, excellent staff. I was lucky to be paired with course experienced players, their shot making advice was a premium for sure.
