Terrible course
Poor customer service. Green were in poor condition. Overpriced for quality
Greens
Some of the greens need work. Very bumpy. Great course otherwise and friendly staff.
Hard and fast
Played with a group of three I didn’t know. Two players really slowed down the pace. Greens were fast and hard. Tee boxes a nightmare as they were solid rock. Broke more tees than I could count. Needed a hammer. Course is next to a major highway so noisy all the time. Driving range is short so no drivers allowed. I wanted to walk. No walkers allowed til after 2:00pm on the weekend.
Beautiful course great value
Play it with my grandson we had a great time, course is in great shape
Water
This course was great but if u don't have a cart person then u need more water on the course in coolers not a water fountain, the water was not cold, other than that, course was in great shape and greens rolling true
Good time with a good friend
My friend lives in the area and he wanted to play this course. Staff was friendly but not over friendly, seem like every time we asked anyone a question it was like pulling teeth to get answer. Sorry I'm not a regular but I live 4 hours away lol. Course was in good shape and pace of play was good until the back nine. Hopefully next time I'm in town I'll get to play here again.
Great Course, Busy Day
I played this course on an absolutely beautiful day. The greens were fast and beautiful considering this is a public course. Some of the best greens on a public course I've seen. The layout is a little confusing, having to go back and forth underneath I-75 3 times, but otherwise great. The only real issue was my brother and I were a twosome behind a foursome, who was behind an INCREDIBLY SLOW foursome. The pace of play was awful. I think the ranger eventually told them to pick it up, but we were so off it really didn't matter. It was a busy day with lots of folks on the course, but wow. It shouldn't have been that slow.
Nice little Muni
Greens are very fast and in excellent shape. Fairways are avg., but the bunkers need some work. Overall a nice little muni course.
A muni but with some appeal
This was the second time I played Brown Acres. The name is not indicative of the course conditions. It is simply off Brown road.
The course is fairly short and fairly straight forward. A bit of water on a couple of holes that sneak up on you. For example, Hole #1 is a short par 4 (354y from the white) but water fronts the green and you can't really see it from the fairway. This happens again on 15. On 18 the water is in the fairway but a decent drive will carry the water.
I really like holes 13 and 14. 13 is a fairly long par 4 (407y) and the second shot is uphill into a nicely wooded area that surrounds the green. 14 is a very short (94y) par 3 with a 50 foot drop. At least 1 (maybe 2) less clubs than normal.
The greens in early June 2016 were in decent shape; a bit slow but not too much so. The areas around the green were typical bermuda. The fairways were in good shape and green all around.
This is not a world class layout but a decent opportunity to play some golf at a decent pace.
