Blackhawk Golf Club sprawls across verdant, gently rolling terrain that provides a picturesque setting and ideal landscape for a round of golf. The family-run course has been one of central Ohio's most popular public golf courses since opening in 1964. The club has built its reputation on its friendly atmosphere and extremely affordable rates. Experienced golfers and beginners alike will find the course enjoyable thanks to the beautifully manicured fairways. The greens are slightly undulating and require a bit of strategy. There is a stream that cuts through the golf course as well as a number of small ponds that come into play on six holes. Bunkering is sparse but there are a few strategically placed along the greensides. Blackhawk Golf Club's 11th hole is notable for being one of the course's most scenic and also one of its most challenging.

Still a great course.
A most satisfactory experience overall. The main drawback was that there was a fivesome ahead of us, which is never acceptable, because it slows down play.
Course was very well maintained, and conditions were excellent.
Great place
Great course great staff I set my tee time I got there half hrs early to putt around and they sent me on out. Course layout was good challengeing holes on front and back for playing short. Long par 3 203 up hill ruff to par. Great job guys keep up the good work
Great value
The course was in great shape. We arrived about 30 minutes before our tee time and was able to get out early. The staff was really friendly and overall it was a great day.g
Challenging layout
Course was in great shape. Greens rolled true but we're a little slow.
Fun @ the Hawk
Great condition as usual, one of my favorites! I never get tired of playing there.
Nice Fairways and Fast Greens - Good Value
At the suggestion of a co-worker, I played Blackhawk for the first time today. When you pull in to the course it looks like most other public courses so nothing special there. There's a nice pro shop and the staff seemed friendly.
What stands out about this course is the quality and speed of the greens. Despite clearly getting a lot of play, the greens hold well, aren't beat up, and they're much faster than expected. The fairways are also in good shape and the rough is kept at a reasonable length for the amateur golfer.
Hole layout is pretty challenging. It's not a long course, but you'll face doglegs to the left and right, as well as some challenging par 3s. I used most of the clubs in my bag.
For around $30 on a weekend, you can't go wrong with this place. I definitely plan to play it again this summer, hopefully when it's not so chilly. The temperature was in the 50s with a pretty stiff breeze.
Mature course with modest layout
Blackhawk was in excellent condition for early in the year. The greens rolled very well. This course is not very long, so a straight hitter can score here.
slowwwww play
We're standing on the 10th tee and we are over 3 hrs into the round and we walked off the course. So no , we won't be going back.Slow Play!!!!!###
Rainy Day
We had a heavy rain for 2-hours with plenty of thunder. The storm passed and I was able to finish, cart path only. It is very early in the season, so the course green keepers haven't had a good chance to fix up the sand traps. Greens were good and they drained quickly. I had a good practice round.
Fabulous Course!
This is the second time I have played this course and I absolutely love it! My brother brought me out here the first time and I was Wowed! The course is challenging enough to make you play hard but not so unforgiving that you're ready to walk away. I live in Illinois and even the best public course I have played doesn't compare to the outstanding course conditions at the beginning of the season out here! My husband and I look forward to coming back out to play again and next time might bring a few fellow golfers who can appreciate this well maintained and challenging course.
This course is well maintained
Great to be able to be out in mid Nov and play. Very nice course condition. Staff seems to be very unfriendly.
Great Value, Great Venue
It's hard to beat paying $12.50 for 18 and a cart on any course any time anywhere but that's what I got on a crisp, fall Sunday in November at Blackhawk. The course is in really good shape and well worth the drive from the West side of town. Of course, I got a really great reduced rate but even at twice or three times the price or more I'd play there again. There is a great combination of tree-lined fairways, strategic water placement and sloping greens that roll up and down the beautiful landscape. Get used to lots of side-hill lies, too. Enjoy!
Lots of leaves, but it is the end of Oct.
Haven't played here for quite awhile. The course is in great shape.
Excellent course conditions
The fairways and greens were the best I have ever experienced at Blackhawk. The greens were a little slow from top dressing a week earlier, but were very true.
This course is layed out well
This course is good for any body who wants a challenge, but not so tough you cant play it. Very nice course.
Greens
The greens were airated. It was super hard to put. I think the course should notify golfers before they pay for the greens.
Good day atBlackhawk
We got to play for $12 per player. The course was in good shape and fairly open. Not too much trouble getting around. I would play it again and even pay more for the privilege.
No questions re: golfnow.com
I have used Golfnow many times and this was the easiest course. Just walked in and told them my tee time and they handed us the cart keys. Staff and players were very friendly. Great day
Not Bad For a Deal
If you can play this golf course for less than $30, I would recommend doing so. Decent course with some tricky holes but nothing to "write home about". Will play it again if this price is right.
