Highlands Golf Course
About
Highlands Golf Course in Tacoma, Wash. is a nine-hole course that can be played in just over an hour. All of the holes are par 3 except for one par 4. It's not your typical nine-hole course, the layout is like a full-size course shrunken down to a par 3 with several challenging elements that will test your short-game skills. The terrain is relatively flat, making it an easy golf course to walk, and it is relatively protected from the winds. The sand traps are sparse but strategically placed, and water hazards come into play occasionally as well. Highlands Golf Course is an ideal layout for beginners to get some short-game practice, but for more advanced players it's an excellent option for a quick round that is more challenging than your average nine-hole layout.

Great and easy play!
Always a good round at highlands. A very well kept par 3 course, that will help improve your short game. Highly recommend!
Cold, Wet & Fun
It was just above freezing when I played. The greens were damp but still played fast. The course was dry and easy to walk. It's is in in great shape for winter play. My wife walked the 1.3 mile course with me to keep track of my strokes (I loose track of how many times I hit the ball sometimes....) She also enjoyed walking the course. It wasn't crowded and I could play at my pace without pressure. It's a short quick iron's course that's fun to play.
Nice par 3 course
A very nice par 3 course. Fun to play except they are very busy with a lot of new players making it slow play. If you don't mind waiting at each tee box it is a pretty good course. Reasonable rates.

I love this corse. Great for beginners and short game play.
Great par 3 course
I've always been a very casual golfer my whole life, maybe one or twice a year on a good year. But after going through cancer treatment last year, I decided to take up golf to help rebuild my stamina, and have an excuse to start playing again on a regular basis.
This is a great course if you're just starting out or getting back into the game like me and want a great little course to practice on without feeling the pressure you get on some of the bigger courses.
The staff is very friendly and not snobby at all, and very helpful and accommodating . You can play 9 holes in 1 1/4 hours, and 18 in 2 1/2 easily. The course itself is kept in very good condition.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Golf Now needs to pay more attention
No problem with the course, but Golf Now totally messed it up. Highland never got the reservation and never would have allowed it for 18 holes as there was a tournament starting shortly after we got there. Fortunately they were very accommodating and got us out for 9 holes.
Play nine in just over an hour!
That's what's nice about par 3 golf. Greens are kept up nice.
Well kept
Well-kept executive nine course. Very fun for beginners and someone who wants to work on their short game.

Fun day...friendly....great shape.....perfect way to sharpen short game....will need some long irons...going back tomorrow
Great Course
Great Course. Good for a weekend 9 or 18 or just going out for an hour.
Great for first timers
Excellent place to practice your iron game. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Perfect for a novice
I'm fairly new to this sport. I've only golfed on courses in San Diego and Hawaii so this was m,y first experience golfing on a short course in Washington. This is a nice, easy course. Staff was friendly. It was about 93* at 5:00 p.m. so it made it an even funner day to be out. I would recommend this course to new golfers wanting to practice their long shot using irons.
Short and sweet
Very short par three. Does have some water and bunkers to add a little challenge. Great for working on short game. Begginers love it.
Fun course to play
I will definitely be playing this course often. This was my first visit. The staff was friendly as were the golfers on the course. A well kept walking course and easy to follow.
Par 3
I looked around golf now and the course website and I couldn't find anything saying that this was a par 3 course. The course is surrounded by houses and back yards. People were doing lawn work and staring as you walked to the green in frustration because you were golfing in their back yard. I would not recommend this course to anyone
Kids love it !!
Great place for little legs to walk and have fun. If your trying to work on your approach shots . This is the spot on a slow day .. You can really hone in your skills ...
Great short game practice
Overall I had fun, and this is a good short game practice facility. Play early or mid-day because of the slow pace of play.
wet and fun
I played at Highlands GC on Saturday. I decided to go thru golfnow.com and thought I was getting a good deal. Turns out with the fees for holding a tee time, it ended up being a couple dollars cheaper. So, not really a deal at all. That was my biggest disappointment. The course is short but fun and good practice for iron work.
Extremely well maintained!
A fun little Par 3... Played in about an hour. Close to my home and a good course to sharpen up my iron game! the staff is very friendly and helpful. I like playing this course...
Short, enjoyable, and inexpensive!
I played this course because I didn't have 4 hours to play an 18. It ended up being 12.50$ for 9 and 7$ more for the back 9. It ended up being challenging although I believe it was a par 29. Easy walking, and fun course.
