Nice course!
Overall me n my compadres really enjoyed this golfcourse. I would recommend it to anyone. Challenging but fair to all levels of golfers. Greens and fairways were in perfect condition. Only one teebox in need of TLC.
Nice course
This is a nice course and plays easy to moderate. the clubhouse is very nice and looks like a great facility to hold a party/wedding etc.....we had a nice time even though it was cold so we had to wear stocking caps!!
Fivesomes should never be allowed on weekend
There was a five some allowed on the course that held up the entire back nine. behind them a threesome, a single, a twosome, a twosome, a twosome. Three holes open ahead of them by hole 13 ridiculous for a sat afternoon. i probably won't go back, everyone was annoyed. the twosome behind me quit after the 15th. members or no members this is no excuse.
River Falls has excellent cost/value.
This course had well maintained fairways and greens. The fall colors was a bonus. The club house is great, spacious and very up to date.
to many quirky holes
A perfect layup drive on 4 is on muddy sparse grass, better off in the rough. What I thought was a perfect drive on 5 rolls thru on rock hard ground to o.b. fence. On 15 your "perfect" drive is in thick grass in a ravine. Par 3 17th you cant see the pin from the blues and can barely see the left edge of green from t- box, then pin was on top of mound so anything not perfect is rolling off unfairly. Greens were rock hard and lightning fast on front, which is fine but after adjusting, the back was wet, soft and fuzzier. Waited every hole even thou mid wk had limited groups out, no one would let anyone play thru, I quit after 17 couldn't take it anymore. Several holes had t- boxes pushed back so far you didn't know where they were. An attempt to artificially lengthen the course in my opinion. I do not care for this tracks layout It is trying to be more than it is. It was was mostly in very good condition and staff was friendly but I will not go back at any price.
Very nice layout wth some very pretty views.
The free coffee started the round out great. Nice electric carts. Course conditions where perfect with true rolling greens. The Shark snack shack was located in a convenient multi-hole location. Plenty of clean port-a-potties located throughout the course. The ranger, shack girl, and clubhouse staff was very nice. The front tees were perfect for my wife who is a shorter hitter. We will be back even though it is a hour drive for us.
Beautifull corse with beautifull weather and my beautifull daughter
We started early and the course was pristine. The course was fair with risk rewards abundant. The pace was crisp land we really enjoyed the whole course and would recommend the track. The best part of it all was to get all that at the nearly
50% discount wow only way to go.
aerated greens are bumpy otherwise good condition
Course in good condition. First time playing here. Bumpy aerated greens annoying. Some blind tee shots and stupid holes. Why allow fivesomes when none are less than a 20 handicap????? Frustrating playing behind them all day.
Fivesomes are allowed at River Falls Golf Club based on pace of play not handicaps. We feel a 4 hour round is acceptable for any group pairing including 5. Sorry about your disappointing pace of play.

well for bent grass fairways they are about 1.5 in length and not cut at all,
greens are recently punched like two weeks ago and we where told are good, they are not.
Decent older course, however greens are like concrete
Overall there are some nice holes and older tree coverage is always great. The fairways were playable, the rough was punishing and the greens were like playing on pegboards (literally). They were not very true, bumby and extremely sandy which made for a rough round of putting. There are much better courses available for the same amount of money in the area.
We are sad to hear about your frustrating day at River Falls Golf Club. Had we have known of your disappointment we would have refunded your money that day. The rough and sandy conditions were due to aerification on August 12. We had posted on Golf Now the appropriate icon concerning aerify. We are sorry you did not get the information. Please feel free to come back and play a round on us. Just contact the pro shop and we will take care of the rest.
early aeration!!
I was looking forward to the grooming improvements made to River Fall CC since going daily-fee only. The new façade & layout of the clubhouse are real nice, but I was surprised after my opening tee shot to find a punched fairway & really disappointed to find all the greens heavily aerated. River Falls is known for its fast, difficult greens, so a lot of the fun was missing for me. Nevertheless, you can see a lot of good things are happening: particularly widening the landing area left on #1, extending the back tee on #3, & clearing the brush that obscured your view of #17. They also added a much-needed driving range. I hate to say "stay away," but do so until the greens have recovered. Think of it this way: they got the jump on the normal post-Labor Day aeration other courses do, so fall golf at River Falls should be terrific.
Thank you for noticing the changes. Yes, in fact we got the jump on aerification for fall play. We anticipate our greens to be some of the fastest in the metro area for September and October golf.

It is true,RFGC is not every golfers cup of tea. Playing from the "tips" has tremendous risk/reward and provides a challenge for even the best golfer. The course has been around since 1929 and the current layout, including the blue tee boxes, has remained basically unchanged since 1970. Returning golfers often find an easier go of it in regards to layout and shot placement. Sorry about your disappointing day of golf.
