Bristol Ridge Golf Course
About
Just a short drive from the Twin Cities, Bristol Ridge Golf Course is a championship course that is conveniently located for a getaway that doesn't involve too much of a time investment. The rolling terrain provides a good amount of challenge while also being player friendly enough for beginners. The tree-lined fairways tumble across the natural contours of the land, which also helped determine the strategic placement of the bunkers. Despite being quite hilly, the golf course is pleasantly walkable. There are also water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The well conditioned greens provide smooth, fast putting surfaces. Each hole has a different character and most are anything but straightforward. Bristol Ridge Golf Course's 11th hole is short but memorable with an almost-island green, surrounded by water on three sides.

Weekend fun
My friend and I drive from Minneapolis to Turtle Lake casino Thursday night, then played golf at Bristol Ridge in Somerset, WI on Friday Morning. We were pleasantly surprised with the course condition, far better than anything we have played in the Twin Cities for far this season, which is to be expected this early in the season. Definitely a well kept course with solid challenges, we will be back.
Worth the Drive
As I live in the twin cities, it's a bit of a drive. Technically in Somerset, WI, but basicaly it's New Richmond. I enjoy this course for the layout- I like the mix of par 5s and Par 3s. 14 par 4s gives you a chance make a lot pars.
You do not have to hit it the fairway to score well, but definitely helps. Big greens allow you to recover. If you do not lag putt well, could be a long day on the greens.
Course is usually lush and green, and the price is worth the visit.
Great value.
This is second time here this year. Course was absolutely beautiful with fall colors.
Golf course always require accurate drives with distance to score well.
Above average course with pretty trees & rolling terrain
Lots of various tall & pretty trees, which were made even prettier by the change in color of the leaves. Rolling terrain throughout with some moderate elevation changes.
Good layout and variety. Mix of mostly open holes with fewer trees & more rough and a few much narrower holes bordered by woodlands (#2 & #5 were especially tight on both sides, real tests of accuracy). Relatively few bunkers, mostly near greens. Some small ponds to avoid on about half of the holes.
Overall conditions were satisfactory. Greens were in good shape, soft and rolled well. Bunkers with ordinary tan sand, but raked well enough to be very playable. However, the grass on the tee boxes and driving range was a little long, scruffy and beat up (weeds growing, etc.). Could use improvement there.
Balls were hard to find in the rough, despite how short the rough was cut.
Some holes with an outhouse and drinking water.
Noisy gas carts.
Pace was ideal (approx. 2 pm Sun tee time in the high 50s).
Nice rolling hills
Staff welcoming, course was pretty empty because it was cold and windy, still a great experience.
I like Bristol ridge
Great course, good location, staff was very helpful
Super golf course with natural setting and layout
Bristol Ridge is a real gem in the East Metro area. The course is in excellent shape and provides some super natural challenges that incorporate the natural terrain. The greens are plenty fast but good consistency. Keep your drive under control and this is a great golf course.
Pay for what you get
For $30 bucks riding it's what you expect.. Fun layout decent conditions. Grass could be cut a little tighter. There is one hole that is just dumb. A par five around a never ending corner with tall trees all the way making it a miracle to hit the fairway of the tee and to be by the green in two. Lots of trees, bring some extra balls.
Very nice course and an Excellent vallue
Very nice course with some very challenging tee shots but an overall great course for an average golfer.
Fun course , would play again
Other than a few greens in rough shape after the winter, the course was in great shape . Interesting fairways and some challenging pin placements. Great value for the money! Would definitely plan again!
Great course, great price
Super friendly staff; great pace of play; nice selection of beverages in the cart and the cart came around often.
Plays Fair
A real bargain. A little tight in spots for a hack like me. The 5th hole is, and always has been a par 8 for me. Every course has a few holes you don't like but the course itself was in good shape. We will be going back.
A place to enjoy a golf outing...........
very good course. would go back to play. Professional/friendly staff.....
For playing this early in the season, the course is in great shape.
nice course, great value
Course is in good condition and the pace of play for a Saturday morning was very good for a public course (4.5 hours).
Woth the drive
Fun course with rolling terrain. Greens were in great shape for April. I have played this course many times and the greens are always good. Can hit driver on every hole from the tips without worry of carrying into trouble. Fun course you should play, Golfnow has great deals at this course too.
Need a cart
Would be nice to have a caddy book. The score card does not show all the dangers
Rough around the edges
This is a nice layout with diverse holes. I guess it is toward the end if the season, so I can't expect too much. However, the greens were a little ragged - the cups were well worn, so pin placements hadn't been changed, debris was all over the greens - one even had mushroom spores all over half of the green, and a lot had large areas of burnt and brown surfaces. Having played about 10 other courses in the area, this was by far the worst condition I've experienced.
Fast greens.
Enjoyed the round course was in good condition, greens were super fast in the back which made for a challenging finish.
