Links at Gettysburg
About
The Links at Gettysburg sprawls across rolling hills situated near the hallowed grounds where the defining battle of the Civil War took place. The golf course wages a formidable challenge itself, featuring 35 steep rock cliffs where the stone-lined tee boxes are perched and 10 lakes and waterfalls that come into play throughout. Red rock cart paths give a contrast to the lush greens and sparkling blue waters. The dramatic elevations allow golfers to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside but the scenery can be almost too distracting since the demanding layout requires all of your attention. Be prepared for a bevy of strategically placed bunkers as well as mature trees. With the challenging layout and unrivaled views, it is no surprise that the Links at Gettysburg is ranked as one of the top 10 golf courses in Pennsylvania.

The guy still works at the course after an overt racism situation. They support his actions or he would be FIRED!!!! Photo submitted by u9215442 on 06/24/2020

Hidden Gem
Great course. Challenging and a little difficult to follow but rewards good shots and the greens are quick with subtle breaks.
Pace of play a little slow, but it was weekend so not unexpected.
Could only get in 9 due to commitments. I intend to go back.
Everything was great except
The bathroom was deplorable. Commode DDP or handle was broken and unable to be closed Heather alone locked. Filled with flies and very dirty. Some people like us traveled a long way and facility use was ill my important. No excuse for this on such a beautiful course I’m a beautiful development. Course demands the need for course direction books and non were available.
Good condition great layout even greater values
We have played Thursday noon tee time. When we arrived at course, the carts are already waiting for us. The pro shop staff and starters are friendly and welcoming. There are only a few groups on the course when we started on time. The fair way is overall good with occasional patchy spots as usual, rough is thick enough to be challenging, greens are fast and with a good mix of undulation and speed; here are occasional dead spot on the greens though. However the bunkers are rock hard dirt and inadequate drainage, so not very playable. The layout is fair but challenging. Overall a very satisfying round of golf. Will come back again for another round for sure.
A beautiful course
I have played this course several times, and will keep coming back. The layout is challenging. The ball must be kept in play, as trouble looms all over the place. The greens are large and fairly quick, with many undulations. One concern on the greens was there was significant moss growth on some of the greens. There were also two times where weeds on the fringe impacted shot selection - I would have preferred to putt, but could not due to the presence of some clumps of crab grass. However, most of the course was in great shape for mid-October.
Worth another trip
I would travel back to play this course again. Worth the drive from Potomac MD to play this course in Gettysburg. Staff is super friendly and the course is in great condition.
So worth it
The course is impressive. I call it a $75 course and with GolfNow I'm typically paying less than half that rate. I will continue to play this course a couple of times a month, despite three drawbacks I will mention. There was a 5 some in front of us holding up play for everyone that day and no Marshall. Typically I see the Marshall a few times a round here, so it was disappointing. We waited on every hole and when we got to the back 9 we saw the group that was on 17 when we were on 12. 5 hour pace of play is just too slow! I've never seen the greens here so fast! Too fast for me, and no doubt many others. We were warned by the starter, who was great, and I would imagine it slowed down the group holding everyone up. It was so fast we saw the impact of the wind on putts, and balls started moving a couple of times well after they stopped. A few trickled on forever. The last issue is one that keeps the course from being 5 stars in course conditions and is a consistent problem. The traps here are often unplayable and often with standing water. We had a lot of rain on Thursday, but this was a Monday round. I've yet to play a round this year when many of the traps weren't muddy, puddled, or even ponds. I've lost balls in traps this year. The dirt in the traps is of poor quality anyway, not sand. All that said everything else about the course is first rate and we will be back. I hope to see my favorite Marshall back on duty.
Great golf
We really enjoyed our play at Links of Gettysburg. Great layout with lots of variety on the course requiring accurate shots. Despite the recent rain, the course was in excellent shape and the greens were fast and true. The staff was very accommodating getting us out early. Even though it was cart path only, we completed the round in four hours.
We will be back! Also, the price was very good.
