Nice Course
Play here several times a year. Fairways and greens in good shape. Some challenging holes but overall on the easier side compared to other courses in the area. Grass still needs to come in on the fairways but they are slowly getting there.
Very nice course to play
I loved the course. It was not fully spring ready as far a play but it would be a 5 star rating in another 4 weeks.
Excellent
Second time playing here in the last two weeks. Course is fun and also has some challenging shots. Staff is amazing. Honestly the friendliest guys at any course I have been to. I drive an hour to get there, if it was closer I would probably play at least once a week there. Can not wait to see the course in season, but you will not be disappointed anytime you go.
Great experience
Staff couldn’t have been any more accommodating. Course was in great shape. Very fun place to play. Can’t wait to go back when spring hits.
January Golf
The customer service upon check-in was not 5-star by any means. Was snubbed about booking online or that was my perception. Never been there before and no guidance on course layout (after saying that I had not been there before earlier in the process) until I asked. Otherwise, the course is in good shape for this time of year, very pretty, but greens need a little work overall. Average overall experience, but good golf experience. Thanks
Fun and scorable
Chelsey Oaks is a man sized course. Plenty of length. Only occasional hazards to deal with. On a hot dry day, advantage to the golfer over the course. Hot dry conditions promote length, and allow the player to attack the firm but well holding greens, which are very scorable. Last round I played there, I shot 10 strokes below my handicap. Great day!
Local comfort tip: bring water. Nothing to drink on course.
Worth every penny
Course layout bodes well for both the novice and seasoned player. Greens are a little rough during winter play, but can tell they are actively working to repair them. Definitely worth the ride to visit.
Bent Grass Greens Don’t Live Here
Hardheaded owner needs to accept bent grass greens do not live very long in this area. He would have all the business this otherwise well maintained fun tract could handle with one of the new hybrid version Bermuda greens..
Not worth the drive.
The course was in terrible shape. Hard to believe the greens barely had any grass on them more like putting on dirt. The course put new greens in last fall and all of them are in terrible shape. It takes a hour to drive there so with conditions that bad, I will not be making the drive again
soggy wet greens
New greens that look horrible why in the world would you put Bent grass in again.......dumb dumb dumb...........
2 6somes on a Saturday ....Serouesly
New greens are not good shape....and 2 6somes really where the heck is the ranger.....Paces was almost 51/2 hours.......On new bent grass and there not doing well.........why would you ever put Bent grass back in in north Central alabama sopping wet and the pace of the greens was crap.......My last round.......never again............
Fun course
Course was in excellent shape. They have trimmed the new greens so they roll very well. The heat is starting to hurt the tender new greens but the staff is working hard to keep them sprinkled. Just a good fun course to play.
Excellent course
Greens are really great and layout of the course is one of the best around., come and see this place and be impressed as I was.
