Worth a play
I would describe Dogwood Gardens as tough but fair. The greens roll quick and true. There are some spots that don’t drain very well but not so many as to ruin the round. I’ve played here twice and enjoyed them both. The drive from Chattanooga isn’t really that far.
Nice, but to much rain!
The course itself was excellent, but they had a great amount of rain which cause some flooding on some of the courses lake and saturated the fairways. The course and layout we loved, but you would hit a great drive and it would plug up. I’ll go back under drier conditions.
Hidden Gem
Great course for the price - Quiet - pace of play is fast
Favorite Place to Play
We love playing this course and consider this our home course even though we drive an hour to get there. We had new golf carts this time, great job. Fairways and greens are in good shape, especially for the time of year. I only have 1 complaint at this course, the sand bunkers. The bunkers are in bad shape and need to be redone. On Sunday, 11/03/19, the bunkers were either full of water or too sloppy to play out of. This is not a deal breaker for us, it just means we have extra motivation to stay out of the bunkers. We can't wait for our next round at Dogwood.
Great course and new carts
This is a great course for all skill levels. New golf carts with ultimatum break. Just come to a complete stop and get out, no foot break to set. Plus a power outlet for your GPS. Rest food in the club house
Good day
Course was in great shape ,always is in great shape . Would join this course but live over an hour away .
Avoid the bunkers
Fairways-excellent. Greens-excellent. Layout-excellent. Tee boxes-pretty good. Bunkers- horrible. Just mud and dry mud. I bet they haven’t added sand or power raked them in years. They need to grass them like rough or maintain them. Also not one ball washer was operable. Fix a couple things and the course would be back to the pristine condition it once was.
Beautiful course. Great people.
Course was in great shape despite drought conditions. Mrs. Doris is a wonderful lady and runs a tight ship. I love when I have the chance to go to Dogwood.
Not GolfNow Friendly
The staff seems put out that they have GolfNow tee times. Not helpful when you’re trying to find others in your GolfNow group. I’ve played this course hundreds of times since late 70’s. It is sad to see it go downhill. It’s average at best now days. Tee boxes are vacant of turf. Ball washers are empty and or broken. Bunkers are not maintained. Hardly even a trash can on the course. I wouldn’t play here if it wasn’t a hot deal.
