Cobb's Glen Country Club
About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Excellent course and staff
Had a great round today ... course is in great condition ... met 3 new golf buddies. The golf pro is tops .... very accommodating with tee time. Only negative for me are the cart paths ... could use resurfacing.
Slow play
Why they allow 5 Somes to play on the weekend is beyond me. They always say they play fast but they never do.
Beautiful Course- Great condition.
Great day, great course, great lay out. Only negative was the pace of play. We were bottled up most of the day by what appeared to be one group ahead of us. No ranger in sight all 18 holes. Took a 10-minute break at the turn to create space and they had just teed off. Twosome begins us finally skipped holes around us and them out of frustration. No offer to play through- no could we “catch” them as they were playing form Senior Tees. Issue was with golfers- not course- but could have been alleviated with Ranger.
Best course in the upstate
My favorite course in the upstate and I’ve played them all
Very happy with our experience. Entire group given the senior rate without asking ($10 discount) (3 out of our 4 were 55+), plus 2 buckets of range balls gratis, so that was a nice start.
Course was in good condition. One or two areas that need attention, but overall tees, fairways, bunkers and greens, all in good shape. Pace of play was great and we had a single, then a two-some play through.
It's a nice mid-way point between CLT and ATL. I'd play it again if I were passing by and time allowed.
Good course great value
The course is always maintain properly with beautiful greens and manicure fairways. The course is fair but also challenging as well.
Very pleasant round
Course was in great shape, and the staff was very friendly. Hot dogs at the turn were even very good. Greens were very challenging, but that is part of the game. I would absolutely play here again.
Great course
The Course is a pleasure to play. There are a couple of greens that are almost impossible (number 9 as one) but overall it is a fair course that will challenge you. Staff is friendly as are the other golfers.
Great Track
Course was in excellent shape. Teed off early and played in 3 hours. Looking forward to going back.
Tucked away Gem
The staff are very pleasant to deal with and ensure you get what you ask for. The course is in excellent condition despite getting a lot of play with everyone being out of work on Covid 19 orders. The staff attempt to place everyone in their own cart with exceptions to close Friends/family. The pace of play was great despite a lot of players on the course. Playing Cobbs Glenn is always a challenge that I enjoy.
Great greens
This is a nicely laid out course with great greens. We enjoyed the challenge the course presented.
Cobbs Glenn
Course is in pretty good shape. A few holes soggy but with all the rain we have had it's to be expected. Great round!
Not the course I'd heard about
Well from start to finish...here we go. We were able to tee off a little early due to the light crowd on a Sunday morning. The guy in the pro shop said there was a small group that went out earlier, but we shouldn't have any issues running up on them. We caught them in 4 holes. I was 2 foursomes that I later found out were members. Apparently if you live on the course or are a member...golf etiquette goes out the window. Fresh pitch marks on the green not repaired, putting and re-putting, not realizing people are stacking up behind you and allowing them to play through...I could keep going. Now on to the course. The tee boxes were utter garbage. They were uneven and more sand/dirt than grass...and we won't even talk about the fire ants. Bunkers were hard and rocky. No ranger to keep pace of play moving. It took us 4 hours to play what I believe is a 3 hour or less course. On the positive side of things. The carts are newer, fuel injected models. The staff was nice. A bad day on a mediocre golf course with the sun shining is still a good day compared to being stuck at the house. Can't say I'll be spending anymore money to play Cobb's Glen in the future.
My headphones
I dropped my powerbeats somewhere on the front 5 holes but nobody had them or turned them in... Just saying.... Yes it’s my responsibility to keep up with my stuff but people should be more considerate..Course was ok little wet but overall pretty good. Greens were in good shape...
Frosty start, good finish
Got out late due to the frost. The staff has done an admirable job maintaining the course through all of the recent storms. Had a good outing.
