The Club at ArrowCreek - Legend Course
About
The Legend at The Club at ArrowCreek brings Arnie's Army to Reno's golf and gambling mecca. Or at least, Arnold Palmer's golf course design touch. Palmer is the architect of Legend, one of two 18-hole showcase courses at The Club at ArrowCreek. Legend throws forced carries, striking native desert grasses and plush speedy greens at golfers without trying to beat them up quite as much as its sister course, The Challenge.
Palmer - the people's champion - seems to undertand how to put together a course for the people too. ArrowCreek Legend weaves around ravines, dry creeks and rocks. It can really give the golfer a sense of being away from it all - even though it's a quick drive to Reno's downtown casinos.
ArrowCreek Legend's finishing stretch tends to leave golfers talking. No. 17 is a short 294-yard par 4 that just screams at players to try and carry the big bunker in front of the green. Usually in score-deflating futility. Then, No, 18 throws a 442-yard par 4 that includes a big ravine carry at golfers.
Don't relax once you're on the green eihter. ArrowCreek Legend's 18 is the fastest green on the entire course. And ArrowCreek takes pride in its fast greens.

Excellent Play
What a day to play, The weather forecast scared most people off. I looked up Golfnow and found an Excellent deal called a friend and off we went. Pretty much had the whole coarse to our self, can't ask for a better time and a great value!
Tee box areas need attention
Course is in decent shape except for the tee boxes. Nice views of the city. Not for the high handicap player, too many long carry driving holes.
nice practice facilities
on this day the pin placements on some holes were almost unfair. Fairways had some bare spots but other than that the course was very nice
Beautiful course. I really enjoyed the variety and desert features.
One of the nicest courses I've ever played. Nice desert course.
Many challenging holes
The greens are 12+. A lot of Arroyo's to clear. Bring lots of balls
still nice but slipping a bit
course is slipping a bit condition wise, fairways a bit spotty and the sand traps in dire need of some rakes, still great views, greens were very good considering just recently aerated, price was right for an afternoon sunny ,warm , round
A perennial favorite!
The greens were in great condition for fall golf- I love the Palmer layout.
STAFF OUTSTANDING, COURSE NEEDS ATTENTION. RUTS IN FAIRWAYS, ROUGH NOT CONSISTENT, GREEN SLOPPY WET AND FAST.
GREAT STAFF BETTER THAN THE COURSE. CHALLENGING LAYOUT FOR HIGH HANDICAPPER BUT UNIMPRESSED BY CONDITION OF COURSE. PLAYED ANOTHER RENO COURSE THE NEXT DAY, PAID 2/3 THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS OUTSTANDING. ARROWCREEK NOTA GOOD VALUE ON THIS DAY.
The golf course was in great condition
The golf course is well-known for its designer-Arnold Palmar. Definitely it is a well-designed, challenging golf course, and the condition was in great shape.
Great Course
From the moment we walked into the Pro shop until we returned our cart we felt very pleased. We would definitely come again
Nice golf course!
Course is up in the hills above the valley floor. We played in the afternoon and the wind was blowing at least 25 mph. Per the Pro shop, the greens were rolling at 11.6 which was fine except for the wind.
My only negative about the course is there are no pictures of the hole layout and there are few blind shots that brought the sagebrush into play.
The practice facility is outstanding; large driving range, short game area and a large putting green.
Very nice course that I will play again!
Great course
Great course great shape A little slow play time. But had a great time excellent value
Challenging layout with fast greens.
Friendly staff. Cart loaded with water and towel. A tricky course for a first time player. Trouble not far off of the fairway. Greens were running 11.5 on the Stimp, but may have been faster. Reading putts was challenging. A few spotty fairway areas, but did not impact the playability. Great views of the valley and city.
Great value for the money. Will definitely play here again.
Difficult for the average golfer.
Beautiful club house and course. The panoramic views from some of the tees are certainly a wonderful added experience!
course and greens in great shape
blind tee shots..tight fairways..lots of brush around greens...canyons..wind..must check-out tees shots before hiting, if not bring lots of balls. it's still a great course if you play smart.
Difficult Arnold Palmer Disign
Course is impressive overall. Very surprised that there were some bare spots in the fairways. First time playing this course and not from the area so wasn't sure what to expect from the other reviews posted. Some good and some bad. Very little room for misses anywhere on this course. Greens are incredibly difficult to read but a tip from the pro shop was the most helpful. All putts break toward the city. Had fun playing but definitely one of the toughest courses I've played and I've played a lot of places.
Very interesting breaking greens. Love them!
The staff provided plenty of details and tips about how to play the course. We completely enjoyed our round!
Great staff, great price, fun course
Well worth it. It was a great course with friendly staff. The practice facility was very nice. Grill had good food. Ill be sure to go next time in town.
This course is quit difficult not much room for air must be a straight driver of the golf ball.
My problem with the course is that most of the much more difficult front nine plays right into the prevailing wind the day we played the par fours played like par fives. Hard course with no wind and with wind pars r like birdies and bogeys and worse r unavoidable!! All in all be ready for a challenge also would help to play it a few time or with someone who has lots of blind tee shots.
Holes had good variety of design.
You won't be bored with this course. It will challenge your thinking and playing skills, especially the greens, however, the slope at 136 (woman's green tee box) did worn you. There is another forward tee box (125 slope), for the weak of heart, that will still give you the flavor of the course but not beat you up. For the advanced player, make sure you have a yardage finder with you because the course only has long distance markers that are aiming polls. To guess the shorter yardages can fool you adding to your score. I found the Bent grass greens, with it's many contours and up and down slopes, the most challenging to read and execute but fun to experience. I didn't feel the difficulty came from the over all yardage (woman forward tees) if you are a long ball hitter but rather more from the layout design. This course needs to be played a few times for better scoring, so don't fret and enjoy the over all experience with beautiful desert views.
