Spruce run
Fast greens first 6 holes are the hardest must place your shot in a good place to hit to the green it’s a must play
Great time
Played early morning tee time and course was is excellent condition. Never had to wait or be pushed along. Would definitely come back to play again.
Fantastic
Played Spruce Run, beautiful couse and conditions were great. Definitely recommend.
multiple tee boxes nice and course plays uphill and long
greens and fairways in good shape although greens were slowest on 5 rounds played in Gaylor area. course plays long and it seemed every hole played uphill and long. were a few wet spots in fairways but course in good shape following recent rain closures.. the Combo yellow white tee was good senior tee

Course was damaged by the recent storm
Several trees down
Greens were a little slow
Beautiful Views
Excellent course conditions. Tricky greens. Stay below the hole!
Fun course, don’t let the yardage fool you.
Awesome Golf Course
Spruce Run may be considered the little brother to the Bear and the Wolverine (even though it is significantly older) but it deserves plenty of recognition itself. The course was in phenomenal shape. The fairways were tight and the greens were slick. Almost every hole was tree lined, and there were multiple times where a hole would look impossible from the looks from the tee box. But there were some excellent holes on the course. There were several magnificent elevation changes, and some very severe doglegs. If traveling to Grand Traverse, don’t overlook Spruce Run because it is just as good as the other two in its own way.

Other than the threesom behind us wanting to set a speed record the first five holes. (They finally backed off) We played in under four hours. The course is tight but playable the first 13 holes than opens up. Great layout and tricky greens. Very fun and I recommend it to anyone.
Great value course
The course was in good shape, with thick rough that punished errant tee shots. Great value for the area, costing almost $100 less than the other courses at the Grand Traverse Resort.
Mean Greens!
Hole layouts were very creative with tons of bunkers and amazing views of the resort and bay. Course conditions were pristine and the greens were rolling VERY fast. I four-putted for the first time in my whole life so that was unpleasant but still had a great time!
Great conditions, good value
Well maintained and decent value. Solid course to play as a warm up to the more challenging and expensive course next door — the Bear. The greens are in great shape and fast. The layout is fairly forgiving. I had easy shots to the green after hitting a few tee shots into the trees. On the other hand, hitting into the fairway bunker on #4 forced a layup because I didn’t dare try to carry the water. Another layup was forced on #5 because of the big tree in front of me on the fairway. #7 is drivable if you can get it over the trees. The back nine was shorter (par 34) and included a couple short drivable par 4s (#12 and, if you can bend it right, #13).
