Top Notch Experience

Spectacular views and amenities! The staff was exceptional. The apparel was very reasonable. They were hit with crazy heat wave so the course was a bit beat up but they did a great job making it as great as it was.

The coal mine was so cool to drive through. The par 3 with the island mailbox was exceptional (and tough). The course was really laid out well.

The staff treated us very well!

Fantastic layout with many signature design elements!

One of my favorite courses around the country. Many great Dye design elements with stunning views and unique holes. The course conditions have been struggling but with a new super should be turning around.

Challenging and interesting layout

Played during a dry-hot stretch of weather and loved the collection of holes. After playing it once, I think you can really make better decisions because the holes are typical Pete Dye and visually intimidating and confusing. Loved the course!

Spectacular in every way, a must play experience!

What a fantastic experience. This is the best staff I have ever encountered in 25 years of golf. Tremendous attention to detail and friendly, professional attitude by everyone from the valet/bag guys, to the inside staff, to the grounds crew, to the restaurant, to the pro. Tremendous facilities and of course a world class golf course. Each hole is memorable in its own way, and perfectly manicured, even though they have had record rainfall. This is a special place and a very unique golf course. Like many Dye courses, if you take the proper lines off the tee and into greens, you can score well. If you challenge certain angles or get aggressive, you can make double bogey quickly. It is a modern design, to be sure, but the layout fits the terrain extremely well, and the views and beauty are simply wonderful. I walked the first day, and it was challenging but certainly walkable. In 2 rounds, I still can't figure out how to hold the green on 17 on an approach. It may be the most undulatiing I have ever seen. The members I encountered were true gentlemen (and ladies), and this was truly one of the best golf experiences I have ever had. What more can I say?

One of Pete Dye's best

I've played probably 20 Pete Dye courses in my life, and this might be in my top 3 with Whistling Straits and TPC Sawgrass. It's actually fairly generous off the tee, but progressively more challenging as you get closer to the greens. The beauty of this design is that it's playable by mid- to high-handicappers, but leaves plenty of challenge for the better players trying to score. Nice combination of long and short holes and great variety of tee boxes. Plus, it's on an incredible site with elevation change, lakes and great views. The old mining tunnel that you can drive through to the seventh hole is also a nice touch,

WV Golf!

Just south of the WVU Mountaineers hometown Morgantown, WV sits this great PEte Dye course.

Interesting layout with some narrow fairways and tough hazards including tall overgrown lowlands and water.

Great facilities and surprising to find in a small town in West Virginia!
