RV Haven
My wife and I spent three months living in our camp trailer at this course. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed almost everything about it. It was unfortunate that the Club was going through some personnel problems at the time. I think the main reason I enjoyed it was that I could play two rounds of golf every day and hardly ever see another person. That don’t pay the bills at the course for sure, but it was a great time for me and some quiet introspection. I would definitely like to go there again but I don’t even know if the course is still open.
Never Again
Used enjoy playing this goat track, when price was dirt cheap. Now I go there and my teetime is over-booked by a scramble tourney.
Douglas City course
This course is in very very poor condition. Fairways are dirt or weeds. Greens are mostly mowed weeds. T boxes are somewhat green.
Course still Sucks
Was overbooked and crowded out by scramble tournament not shown on Tee time listings. Money back please!
Atrocious golf course
There’s nothing positive about this place. When I checked in there was a sign saying the back 9 was closed, this was not previously stated so even though I paid for 18, I’d have to settle for playing the front 9 twice. Not a huge deal. I was also told there was a tournament going on so I could either wait 3 hours from my tee time or know that I had to let everyone play through. This ended up being annoying. Why would you accept other tee times if you know there’s a tournament? The cart I was given was dusty and dirty. I had to grab a towel from my car to wipe down the areas I’d be touching. The course is 50% dirt and gravel, 25% dead grass, 25% sand. I scuffed several of my clubs on the playing surface. The layout was terrible. The greens were absolutely atrocious, overgrown with weeds, not recently cut, and other issues that affected putting. 2 of the 9 holes had such rough greens they took them out of play completely and set the holes outside of the greens. Those new “greens” weren’t tended to properly so you were practically putting through the rough. We played 8 holes and decided to call it quits.
Management should be embarrassed and this app should stop allowing tee times here.
always like the layout
the course is in bad shape but i get to practice shots don't normally get. It's like playing a driving range.Still it's fun but didn't know the back 9 would be closed.
Just hanging in there
This golf course is way overpriced for the shape it’s in. It just needs a lot of TLC
Douglas
the reason for the poor ratings is due the the fact that i had to drive over an hour to get to the course just to find out that the tee time i booked was not valid, why would you ask, well let me tell you , they are NOT OPEN on Mondays, so it was a waste of my time and drive down to the course to not get to play
City of Douglas' Oldest Course
This course is the only golf course in Douglas, AZ. It is a typical "west Texas" course. Lots of wind. Long and straight. Hard "fairways". And right on the Mexican border. It is worth the trip to play, just so you can say you have played there. Stay at the Gadsden Hotel (REALLY worth it). And, absolutely sit at the bar at the course, and talk to the locals. It genuinely is a social club, even if it is not much of a golf course.
Course was closed
We were surprised when we got to the course that it is closed every Monday. After waiting around for some time, we spoke to a maintenance man and he got us a cart and allowed us to play. Golf Now should now have accepted our reservation for a day when the course was closed.
