Course was a great value, however not in the usual great condition, greens undergoing maintenance and some rough spots on the fairway. Overall great experience, nice day of golf.
Great layout with wide fairways.
Great playing condition, fairways and greens in great condition. Close to home, will be playing there again. Great value for the money.
Your Own Course
This course is a private course that allows several tee times a day through GolfNow. The snowbird season is over and there is not a lot of traffic. The course is in very good condition for this time of year and we saw no one from the time we teed off to finish. Normally the staff is friendly but I did not feel so this time with the woman in the golf shop who seemed more interested in getting the day done than anything else.
Mature, playable golf course in Green Valley
Had tee time in afternoon shotgun. The staff grouped me with two members, both of whom played well and were very congenial. We moved right along, not waiting for anyone in front of us and not being pushed from behind. I had an enjoyable afternoon.
Favorite course in Green Valley.
The greens and fairways are always among the best I play when I am in Green Valley. The Golf Professional is very hospitable and the pace of play was excellent. Shotgun tee times is unusual. I wish I could have played earlier than the 8:00 shotgun.
nice course
Well maintained fairways and greens. Many sand traps have no or very little sand. Their shotgun idea seems to work quite well.
bubba
Lady in the Proshop isn't polite or friendly. $5 to hit range balls is unfair...worst conditioned range balls I have ever seen. No where to get refreshments on course..all the other courses in town do. Although the course layout and condition is good, the rest of the place is a dump. Sad for what is supposed to be a private club
Best kept secret in Green Valley
My wife and I first played here one year ago and were immediately impressed by the conditions, and practice facility. The staff and members went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Since that time we bought a house on the 10th fairway and have joined as members. There are two "Shotgun" starts at 8:30am and 1pm which make it easy to get on with short notice. The comraderie is great and walkers are welcome.
Winter vacation golf
Enjoyed the lush green fairways. They were a welcome change from the dormant conditions back in NC.We look forward to coming to AZ to visit friends and enjoy the mild weather and great golf courses.
Challenging course
This course is in better condition than it was in Jan last year. The greens are speedy, no bare spots. The bunkers were filled with soft sand. For January golf in Arizona Green Valley CC was enjoyable and challenging to play.
Be careful
I just became aware that the club failed to return the $4,500 refundable portion of membership to my father-in-law when he resigned his membership in 2004, which was required at the time he paid his $11,000 entry fee.
I have sent three emails over the last couple of months asking that a check be sent to my father-in-law address, but have not had a response.
Be careful if you are considering joining.
Greens,exceptional
Conditions were superb.Peter, very personable!
Wonderful practice area.
Views, awesome.
Gotta return soon.
Good condition
Enjoyed a 4 hour round on a very nice golf course. Greens were very fast and true. Will play again in the future.
Greens are bad!
Fairways were pretty good and tee boxes for the most part were okay. Most of the greens were below average to poor. Large areas of the greens were either dead or sand. It did appear the greens keeper did make the effort to place the pins in the better parts of the green but putting through many of the bad definitely effected the roll. I wouldn't recommend this course until after the winter overseeding.
Lack of rain has hurt this course...greens need lots of help.
It is a fair course but needs some work....lack of rain has hurt the course.
Wait for overseed
This course was in good shape over the winter, but now it is fairly rough. Wait till after overseed before playing
Nice layout
The course is a nice, receptive layout. I've played the course from 3 different tees, and have found it enjoyable from all .
Fair shape for private club
Greens could use a lot of work. Need drinking stations other then the club house.
The Club changed in 2002 from and equity membership to an asset membership. With the decline in the golf industry and many courses and Clubs going out of business because of a lack of new members or players, initiation fees are becoming a thing of the past. All members were informed in 2002 that this was a change in policy and initiation fees refunds were no longer refundable. Members used to be able to sell their memberships from a waiting list. It is too bad the next generation were not told that by the former member who has since past away. Times are a changing.
