Royal Palms Golf Course
About
Located in the city of Mesa, the Royal Palms golf course is a nine-holer with a risk-and-reward style layout. Royal Palms offers a mix of par 3s and par 4s that is suitable for all skill levels of golfer. Although it is a short course, there are challenges to keep golfers on their toes. What A Fun Executive Course!
With lakes and dog legs the course is fun to play and much more challenging than it looks on paper. Hats off to the staff and family for creating a mix of fun and challenge. Course was in very good shape and the price was right.
Fun Course
Great 9 hole course. Fairways and greens are in fantastic shape. Greens were firm and found very very few diviots. Pace was a little slow just due to the amount of people who arrived at the course at the same time, but you really can't beat an hour and 1/2 for 9 hours. Pins were in some challenging places due to the tournament that will be held tomorrow. Will definitely go back.
false information on site; turned away because course refused to honor Covid 19 representations in confirmation
I am trying to isolate as much as possible because of age and comorbidities. Golf is an activity that seems safely doable. Have recently golfed at courses that have a 1 per cart rule. Saw that Rolling Hills did. My confirmation, attached, contains the language saying that "cart usage is limited to one rider per cart."
We were assured that many carts were available, but it was asserted that they would not be if that rule were enforced. We were told that it had not been in force for several months and that it had been removed from the site.
I indicated that the policy may have changed, but that the rule was restated in my reservation confirmation. As far as I can see the Rolling Hills site refers the golfer to GolfNow to make the reservation. I feel confident that GolfNow gets its information from the course. The course either failed to inform GolfNow or failed to check the site for several months despite, no doubt, what must have been numerous complaints..
I really don't care who was responsible for the mistake. I wasn't. I golf to relax and "get away from it all.." I should not be met with an abrupt change of policy and someone who doubts my veracity. TERRIBLE way to run a golf course.
Hit em straight
Nice little course. Better condition than many of the 18 hole courses. It is the desert
Amazing Beginners and Irons Course!
I thoroughly enjoy playing this course to sharpen my iron shots. The perfect course for beginners and intermediate players alike. It features water and overhead (power lines) hazards...a free re-tee if you hit the power lines.
Look forward each week to golf Royal Palms
We play each week on Thursday league with our court. Some play 18 holes which I do, some play 9 holes. Its a favorite and challenges me to find that Hole in one shot and to improve my score to under par or par! Love the staff, so friendly and easy booking for tee time. Witnessed a Hole in one by Shirley, hole #2 on March 1, 2018 Fun day!
The course won't honor Golf Now 18 hole price.
I made tee times through Golf Now for 18 holes, and the last 2 times they only let us play 9. They said they won't honor Golf Now and to contact them with complaints.
Play was very slow.
Golfing under the high voltage poer lines.
Not deserving 4.5 stars
Not clear it was an excutive course.
Friendly place to play a quick 9
I play this well maintained short course pretty frequently. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They don't have a proper range (just mats and a net). But the three greens for pitching/chipping/putting are a great place to work on your short game. Pace of play is slow to moderate during the season. Summer rounds can be faster. The water here can be sneaky, bring a few extra balls.
Royal Palms
Royal Palms is a great little course for a quick 9 hole round.
Good for beginner golfers but also has some more challenging holes for the intermediate golfer.
Nice!!
A great way to start my golf season easy, good fairways and excellent staff. Enjoyed our 9 holes
Great little course
course was cart path only which is OK due to short narrow fairways, not mush walking from cart path. This course is great for walkers, and bargainers
Great little course in Oct.
Excellent course and will definitely be coming back.
Where this course scores points for me is the condition of the course in October. I searched course reviews the day before at multiple courses because I hate hitting off dirt fairways an entire round, which is easy to do in October in AZ. This course was perfect!
Nice, green fairways and the bunkers were thick (not concrete). The greens were overall in great condition. Just slightly bare in a couple places, which I'm fine with for the price of the course.
You absolutely get your money's worth. It is a fairly easy course. The pace of play is a bit slow because of all the beginning golfers on the course, but I will definitely be back...possibly next weekend.
Was only $5
The greens were irrigated and sandy. Only 9 holes.
Booking through golf now was $5 with a cart.. I had to try but I wouldn't make the drive out again (15 mins) even if it was free.
Ball eater!
I love this course for its fully grown trees, it's well tended lawns and it's "cool in the city feel". But my slice and the slopes put me in the water on a few holes. Bring extra balls because the grades are deceptive and fairways narrow.
You can easily play this a few times a day for redemption.
nice course, but...
i had a great day once i got to play. i set up a tee time at 8:22 and they had other people walk-up, so they let them go ahead. i had to wait for 5 groups to go ahead so it was about a half hour wait... not a huge ordeal, but i was kind of on a schedule. ill definately go back because the course is really fun and taken care of.
Good bang for your buck.
My wife and I played on Wednesday before their men league. Found a deal on golf now for $7 pp with cart.
We had not played in a while so this was a good course to get us back in the swing. Course was in good shape, friendly staff, will play course again.
Love golfing here
I enjoy golfing at Royal Palms, my friends and I golf there as often as possible. It is a great course and a great price.
Nice Place
Had a great round. It a 9 hole course. Basicly you can't beat it for price. It's a short course. I really can't complain about anything. I like this place if I am looking for just to get out and play
