Peoria Pines Golf Club
About
Peoria Pines Golf Club is an executive length course that has a mix of par 3s and par 4s and calls for the use of several different clubs. There are also two lengthy par 5s that are over 500 yards. The course is suitable for all skill levels as it has enough challenge for advanced golfers but is still accessible to beginners. Water hazards come into play on seven holes. There are also several strategically placed sand bunkers. The greens, although well maintained, play slow. Peoria Pines Golf Club's green fees are reduced in the summer as well as on weekday afternoons in the peak season.

New to golfing, very friendly staff and nice course, well maintained. Will be back
Casual Comfortable Course
For casual golfers such as us, the course was perfect. We were matched up with two young gentlemen that were very easy to feel comfortable with. The pace of the course was good - we moved along (did have to wait a bit and others had to wait for us a bit) and golfed 9 in 90 minutes. Definitely will return on our next visit.
Poor play conditions
The greens are aerated with big holes. At least put sand on the greens. Putting is atrocious as your ball bounces in various directions. The tee boxes have always been a problem, they have never been flat. Now the tee boxes have 2” of grass so you have to tee your ball high to avoid playing a shot as if you’re in the rough. The course needs Herbicide as the weeds are growing in the fairway. A couple times, we had to move our ball out of soft, soaked grass. It’s too bad because this course use to be in good shape the last 2 years. The rates are $40 and you can play a full regulation course for cheaper than that. They need to hire a maintenance crew. The golf carts need either a good tuneup or need to be replaced. One of the perks they has were GPS on the carts and that is gone. The only benefit to they is you can drive your cart anywhere we not have your cart shut off in restricted zones. Good luck seeing a cart girl unless you play after 10:00am. Hire a GM who cares about tue course and is somewhat of a presence. I was told during Covid that he was brought in temporary and he’s a realtor. He must be receiving a free salary and allowed to be a full time realtor.
Fun Course, Slow Staff
Have played here a few times and previously when it was Country Meadows. Nice executive course with par 5 mixed in.
Really like the nice sponge like soft greens although a couple of them had rough spots. Pace of play was good as there were three of us. Group ahead was pretty quick for having four and no big pressure from behind. Fairways were okay but not great. Patchy in some areas. Driving range is good. Putting area leaves a lot to be desired.
Suggested improvements:
Cashier was slow as molasses and not very friendly.
Course would benefit golfers by switching the front and back nine. Many courses have done this when the front nine plays from west to east so morning golf isn’t played into the sun.
Course layout puts tee boxes in danger zones from errant shots on some holes.
Frustrating Lately
It is so frustrating to tee off early on Sunday to get to hole #10 and there is a foursome who old guys who can’t play teeing off from the RED tees. They do not have golf etiquette to suggest or allow groups to pass. I drove past them to play
hole #11. The greens were aerated a couple of months ago and the holes are still present. The greens have needed to be cut for a while. The greens are bumpy and and slow. There is not a flat tee box on the course. They are all mounds. The cart girl shows up around 10:00am. I have never seen the GM. I know he also does real estate. I have never seen w maintenance worker or ranger. They should get rid of the GM and hire some maintenance workers and a ranger!
GC needs major changes
PPGC needs to be better managed from the agronomy to the clubhouse. Greens need to be watered through out the day not just in the morning. They need to be mowed closer. Driving range needs netting on both sides to prevent range balls from landing on the 10th and 18th fairways. Golf carts need tune ups as ours was sluggish. Charge more so you have more money to put into the course or you will continue to have these issues.
