Sun City South Golf Course
About
The Sun City South Golf Course is normally a private club but during the summer months, public play is allowed. The course has a traditional layout with four sets of teeboxes for a variety of different golfing options, which allow golfers to work on a range of different handicaps. The golf course has a fair share of challenges with several sand bunkers and plenty of trees scattered throughout. There are also out-of-bounds stakes providing more difficulty. Water hazards come into play on some holes as well. The Sun City South Golf Course facility has a putting green and chipping area for golfers to use in addition to the course.

GOOD COURSE FOR THE MONEY
a VERY NICE WALK WITH LOTS OF OF ROOM TO SPRAY THE BALL, GREAT CONDITIONS AT A VERY FAIR PRICE!
Good Value
Check in always smooth. Course was in good shape overall, especially the greens. Bunkers could use some work as they were all wet under the top layer. Pace was very slow as group two in front were 2 holes behind at the turn anthree holes after 4 holes on the back. No ready golf and just didn’t care there were three groups on the tee behind them.
Great course
The greens were in great shape, as were the fairways. It was easy to lose your back in the right however as the brown grass was some sort of tangly grass so the ball could get buried easily. So stick to the track! Lol. We golfed Thanksgiving day, but due to the lack of people golfing that day, we were unable to get a” beverage “ between the front and Back. Understandable however, as Pete were with their families that day. Great course though
Pace
Finally! Played a round here with a good pace. We played in just under 4 hours. Normally, it is a 4 1/2 to 5 hour round of waiting. Pace of play was excellent this time. I noticed that there were not any groups of 5 going out. The Pro shop called out groups of 4 almost like he was pointing it out. Just shows that if they do not put out groups of 5 that this course plays at a reasonable pace.
Greens in Good Shape and 4 Hours to Play
Welcoming check in, very smooth. Started on time. Greens were in good shape. Still needs more consistent grass around greens. Played in 4 hours!!!
Cart path only
Very flat course with all raised greens. Cart path only after reseeding. The round was very slow on the front 9. Several groups in front of us gave up as the back 9 was slightly faster. They still send out multiple groups of 5 which slowed things down even more with the cart path rule. I really wish they would end this game killing practice. The greens putted very slow, but were hard packed so an approach shot would bounce off or roll to the back.
Overseed gem
Looked for place to play through overseed….traditional layout, good conditions, greens naturally slow after overseed, but very good shape. Pace is average. Value is tops
Another Sun City Course
I think I have played all of the Sun City municipal courses and each one seems to be like the other. No major on any challenges on any of the courses. This a very short course- there was only one hole that had a par 4 over 375 yards from the whites. Not that I'm complaining about that since I don't hit them as far as I used to. Only a couple of holes with water. What I was most surprised about was how dry the course is, considering all the rain that PHX has gotten. Greens played a little slow.
Played as a single and completed 18 in 2:15.
Sun City South
Course is in excellent condition and staff very helpful and professional
Good Day to Play
I play this course quite a bit and this round was the best I ever had on it. Because of the rain this summer the course is in fantastic shape. Greens are well kept and consistent. With few players on the course in the afternoon, I had it all to myself.
