Sun City Lakes Golf Club - West Course
About
The 18-hole West Course at Sun City Lakes Golf Club is a private course with a traditional layout. The course is quite open and features a few interesting challenges. It is relatively flat, making it nice to walk although carts are available. More advanced players that mostly hit straight balls may not find the course challenging enough, but it is quite enjoyable for beginners and intermediate players. Notable holes on the course are the 3rd, 9th, and 18th since they can be played a few different ways. The Lakes West Golf Course facility, in addition to the course, has practice facilities including a putting green, chipping area, and driving range.

Sun City Lakes West
First time playing this course. It was a great pace of play and the course was in good condition with some challenging holes. I would play it again.
Nice Course
I live on a different course in Glendale and this was the first time playing here. It definitely is a Diamond in the rough and for the money, excellent . The really only complaint is they need to let players know ahead of time they only have 11 carts so you may have to bring your push cart though they have some push carts.
good course
the only problem is the dormant grass around the greens ,makes chipping very difficult, but i think this is common on arizona courses this time of year
Groups of 5
The course sends out too many groups of 5. No rangers on course to keep pace. Waited on every shot and every hole. The course should be honest about its policies to overbook your teetime. I cannot recommend this course.
Surprised
Let me begin by first saying that after having played a bunch of courses in the Sun City and Sun City West area, that these fairways and greens were the best. The day was partly cloudy and a cool wind. those are the positives. But imagine my surprise when I checked in only to find they had no carts! they only have 11 and those were all out on a first-come-first-serve basis. So walking was the only option. They had only one pull cart available and it was from the era of hickory shafts! If had known all this I wouldn't have driven 1-1/2 hours to play there. So, my advice is to be prepared to walk and bring your own pull cart.
Sun City West -
Course played super slow -we were behind a 5-some and had to wait 5-6 minutes almost every hole - very frustrating. Cost is pricey for this course,
would definity play again but hopefully the play would be faster
Stop sending out groups of 5
Our group was made into a group of 5 as was the two groups ahead of us. When we got to the second hole there was FOUR groups waiting on the tee. No rangers on the course to keep things moving. Eventually, we filtered through and got moving. Ran into slow down on the back 9 too. This is a short and fairly easy course. It shouldn't take nearly 5 hours to play. I cannot recommend this course until this policy is changed.
Sun City West
Greens in excellent shape, fast but very fair, fairways well groomed
