The Wizard Golf Course

Nice course, good layout, was challenging due to cold and windy weather.

Played twice two days apart. The greens held up nicely and rolled true with a little less break than expected. Cannot truly rate course due to conditions.

Save your money, this course is really overrated. Golf course conditions were fair at best. Probably the worst conditioned course i have played this year. Nice course layout and some nice challenging holes. Got a hole in one on 17th and clubhouse staff gave me a pick of hats in the pro shop, nice gesture. Sorry but i would not return as there are far better courses for less money.

Started a golf trip off with a round here and it turned out to be a great decision. We were a twosome who didn’t get paired up with anyone and we didn’t see anyone in front of us or behind us most of the day. Played in less than 4 hours but didn’t feel rushed at all. Course is challenging but playable for most. I am a 10 handicap and had fun the whole round and my friend who is just starting to really get into the game shot his best round to date. Greens are in great shape and roll amazing, we had a lot of fun on the greens. Do not underestimate the Myrtle Beach wind, this was a great course to get familiar with it. Links style course that starts and ends with some water featured holes, nice little taste of both worlds. We paid $71 and that included a complimentary lunch item and two beers at the turn. They also gave us a $10 off coupon for merch and we both ended up buying something, they have a nice selection. Clubhouse doesn’t offer a ton but it knows what it is and is efficient. You can hate on the abandoned castle theme or embrace it. Embrace it, this place is fun, knows what it’s doing and doesn’t take itself too serious.

Course is absolutely stunning and in very good condition. Well maintained and I will definitely back soon!

The course has a driving range and putting green to warm up The course can be windier and cooler than most, sort of a links feel. The faiways were wet but greens dry and fast

It rained a couple days before arriving, got there and was told cart path only. Course was wet, greens were sparse and concrete hard. Course had been over seeded and also overwatered. Had I known that I would have passed on playing this trip. Based on the round we passed on playing the sister course Man of War.

The course was in amazing condition with some of the best greens I have seen this year. The staff members were friendly and surprised us with lunch and drinks included with our Saturday Green Fees. This made it even a better day and well worth the weekend rates. On top of that we were given two $10 off coupons for the pro shop. I would highly recommend this course if playing anywhere near the Myrtle Beach area. A+++

Of the 7 courses we played, the Wizard was in the best condition, fairways and greens.
