Great but slow
Truly a great golf course but 5:45 for 18 holes is just too long. Took 3 hours for first 9 holes. Complained to ranger and he said it should pick up as a slow couple was told to speed it up. Why could they not have done that earliet?
Course itself is great and some of the best finishing holes for any course I have played. 17 is a memory and will definitely make your knees shake.
Looking forward to my next round there - just hope it will be quicker
Decent condition for early season
Nice course layout, it would be nice to have some sand in the bunkers. Course grass and tee boxes starting to fill in.
Nice restaurant to watch players and good food.
I booked online, it jumped to the wrong day and by the time I realized the was no way to cancel it, so that was over 100$ out of my pocket I will never get back, so thanks a lot teeoff
Good all round value
No hassle check-in but minimalist help otherwise. Help yourself to a cool brand new black cart. Started on 10. Mid afternoon tee time and played on my own, eventually behind two foursomes. Went ahead of them at the turn on a wide open course affording excellent pace of play.
Conditions were good except for about 50% of the bunkers. Good fairways and greens with consistent semi-quick greens. Not as much water in play as the name implies. Plenty of room off the tee with challenging green surrounds. Cart paths also in good.shape. Taylor has two very good and interesting Arthur Hills courses and he always creates good layouts.
I have no qualms in recommending this course.
As someone who prides themselves on playing fast, I understand cart path only and being a 3some but the people I was paired with were beyond rude. I’d be getting ready to hit and would hear some laughter or a cart move. On the 4th hole, I was setting up and stepped back because the cart of the group ahead was still next to the green and on the 5th hole I caught a thin shot which I couldn’t tell if it crossed or not elected to play a provisional and re-tee instead but was told “I can’t do that because the group behind us was on the green.” Rushing another golfer you’re paired with who you don’t know shouldn’t be that way because you’re not going to play fast in wind gusts and cart path only. Instead for 2 holes I had to play by myself as they became a 5some with the group in front. I chose to enjoy my golf and play especially when it’s early in the season. I get playing fast but you should also be enjoying the game and I wasn’t enjoying it. Then to hear the starter say we were playing “slow” being caught behind rude golfers will make you slow.
Real world conditions
Great course bad day. Rain, sleet and snow not to mention the 50mph gusts.
Best public course in SE Michigan
This course puts many private clubs to shame. Challenging greens, great design, well taken care of. Amazing how good of condition the course was for being so early in the season. True gem of a course.
Green is in good shape
Very nice course: green is in good shape for an early season. good value.
