A hidden jewel
This course had been berated by several friends as run down and poorly maintained bet we hound that the course was in excellent condition, the greens soft and well maintained and the facilities a bit aged but in good shape. Beautiful views on many holes.
This course represents an excellent value. Not private club pristine but an excellent course at a great price. The only con is that some of the cart paths could use some work.
We'll be back.
Challenging Course, Great Conditions
Royal Oaks was in great shape. It was my first time playing the course and will NOT be my last. Some very challenging holes. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great value for the money
The course has a great natural setting (homes and mountains). Most of the greens were in great conditions with true ball roll. There are both challenging holes and holes that allow you to score and come back.
This course has variety.
Holes with doglegs right. Holes with dogleg left. Holes with elevated tee shots. Holes with elevated greens. Holes with Water. Great variety.
pace of play is good, fairways were nice, greens smooth, little slow
Royal Oaks has always been a favorite. 14 solid holes of golf with 4 holes that have design flaws keeps this course from being great.
look for the hot deals
this course was nic3e.and especially for $14.I play a lot of courses for less than $20 per 18 hole round. Some are great courses. This time of year all municipal or public courses are showing the wear and tear.Look for the deals.
Greens are always good.
This course is always adequately maintained. The greens seem to always be soft and run true.
The fairways are always good, not pristine.
I've played this course off and on for years and think it's a very good value.
great course with challenging holes
Wonderful golf course. Fairways and greens are in great condition.
Fun course to play at a bargain price.
Course has some challenging holes and some very scenic holes. Would highly recommend.
overall the course is in good condition.
I like the front nine better than the back none. The back nine is not a good designed course.
Very slow play
10 carts backed up on hole 1...disaster.. No starter or ranger...slow play all day....
Pleasant playing course
Fully enjoyed our round, and my son and I shot our best rounds of the year. Highly recomend!
Nicely maintained, very friendly,
The course was nicely maintained. I was very impressed. The guys in the pro shop and the lady in the snack shop were extremely friendly. Except for one, the greens were in good shape and true. The fairways were nice and green. . If I had to nit pick, it appeared that the first and second cut of rough had gotten a little deep before the las mowing and there was some dead grass laying on top. I understand that there has been an enormous amount of rain here lately which is probably the reason. I would highly reccomend this course for its friendly service, nice course, as well as some beautiful vistas.
easy front nine, difficult back nine fast greens
Good bang for the buck .needs to be mowed more often with all the rain we've had.plenty of tee boxes for all levels of golfers
Great Course- EXCELLENT VALUE!
For the price you cannot beat this course. With all of the remodeling that has been done, this should be a $50-$60 course and you pay half that. I would recommend to anyone. Rough is TRUE rough and fairways are in great shape.
Beautiful setting
This course plays around/across water and through a beautiful golf community. The directions between holes needs better upkeep but the fairways are incredible. The greens are very nice and not hard to read. The water location in front of the green on 13 gives everyone a chance for their own tin cup moment. I chose to lose only one ball falling two feet short of the bank before taking the drop.
Bargain
the Oaks is a great course, especially if you can snag one of the bargain prices they regularly post.
I played here for $12 with a buddy and for that price, pretty much anything would be acceptable. However, this course provides much more than just a cheap outing. Usually in above average shape with attention to detail in terms of tee boxes being maintained and areas around green being manicured.
Good course made great by the price.
Nice course and nice people
Being the first time that I have played this course. I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in excellent shape. I would suggest that they have better directions to the next hole, especially if you have never played the course before. Many holes would have been hard to find if I hadn't hooked up with players that knew the course. In spite of that, I would play there again.
conditions need improvement
Rough was tall and thick and easy to lose ball.
Strange course maintenance - green sand repair in ball marks only around the hole location. Greens were generally large and in good condition. Hole should have been located away from repaired areas...Some rough areas had excessive mowed grass piles - again very easy to lose ball.
Great Round
Had a great round. Course was as green as I've seen it in years. Greens were a little long and slow, but I'd play it again in a heartbeat.
