Marshall's needed.
The course - in very good condition, Layout was challenging for myself, a 15 hdcp.
Pace of play - this was my first time here so hopefully just a bad day. 5 hour and 15 minute round. Waiting on every shot .
Marshall came around once, we were on the second hole, and then dissappeared for the rest of the day.
If they have slow play rules they do not enforce them.
Downhill Some
LPGA International appears to have gone downhill some over the last several years that I have been playing there. With that said, its still good public golf. But, it is not a high end course like I feel like it once was. I played at a public course near Boca Raton the day before and felt like it was much better ran and in better shape. First, there was a tournament held that morning that used all the carts. The tournament lasted longer than they anticipated and they had a huge hord of players waiting on carts. The cart boys worked hard to get the carts cleaned and back out, however, there was no one in charge and no organization to it, and it was a mad house to just grab a cart and go. Needed someone to be in charge and make sure people got off in the correct order at least. Instead, every man for himself. The course was not in quiet as good a shape as I expected, there were some spots of Poa annua on the greens, and a few bare spots on some edges. One green, either 7 or 8 had a large spot in the front middle that needed and was under some repair. Generally, the greens rolled good and were quick, but they werent pristine. The fairways were in good shape, and the rough was ok. Most bunkers around the greens were in good shape, but the first fairway bunker I hit was unplayable and had not been fixed since the last rain and I moved my ball out. Overall, the condition of the course was fair to good, but not great. The layout is great. Very fair to the average golfer, and fun to play. Not a ton of forced carries and the ones that exist are very manageable.
Number one is a medium length par 4, with water all along the left. Alot of room to the right
2 is a long par 4 with water sneaking in on the right.
3 is a longer par 3 that is well guarded with bunkers
4 is a shorter par 4 and one of the more pedestrian holes on the course.
5 is a shorter par 5, water comes into play on the right as the hole moves around to the right.
6 is a shorter par 3 over a sliver of water and with water right.
7 and 8 are both medium length par 4s. 7 is pretty open while 8 is a much tighter hole and one of the tighter holes on the course
9 is a long par 5.
10 is a shorter par 4 with an elevated green
11 and 12 are both medium length par 4s, both open up to the right off the tee, but you cant really tell that from the tee. 11 requires a marsh carry off the tee.
13 is a very long par 5 that moves right with first sand, and later water right with a very elevated green.
14 is a medium length par 3 with alot of sand short and left.
15 is a long straight away par 4 with huge mounds right
16 is a shorter par 5 with water left and mounds right with an pretty elevated green
17 is a medium length par 3 with a pond short and left
18 is a long and straight away par 4.
All in all a great layout. Fun to play, but conditions today were not pristine. Well worth a play, but I would wait to get a later tee time to get a lower price if I were worried about value.
Nice Course
Course is always in good shape, but during prime season play is slow. We waited on every hole.
One of the few...
This course is one of the few around in great shape. Because of this, play is slower than most places. Be prepared to be paired up is you're a single or double. Staff is wonderful. Respect for your server would be nice. Fully stocked Club House. Great place to visit.
Beautiful Course
This was a beautiful course. It is well maintained & challenging.
Great track
My wife and I had a great time playing. We snagged a twilight (3:51) tee time for $69 and were concerned about getting the round in before sunset. We played behind a foursome and moved along well and finished up right as the sun was going down. Plays well for all handicaps and was a super fun round.
LPGA Jones
LPGA Jones Course is our favorite track in the area. Some of the greens had some work done on them but still playable.
Great course for all skill levels
Beautiful day on a well manicured and conditioned Jones course.at LPGA in Daytona Beach, FL. All staff were very helpful. Would recommend it highly.
Excellent course
I played several courses in the Daytona Beach area and without a doubt, this is by far much better than any of those. The Hills course is also excellent but more challenging, I would recommend both courses.
