Formerly known as Cattail Creek GC.
Located in Green Cove Springs at the Reynolds Industrial Park, River Bend Golf Links is a locally owned, public course that offers a relaxing, enjoyable round. The course has been offering classic links golf since 1950, although then it was known as Cattail Creek. The golf course has since changed management but the challenging layout has remained the same. The golf course features small, fast greens and bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. River Bend Golf Links is conveniently located near St. John's River, offering a variety of other activities including boating and fishing.

15th fairway looking toward green Photo submitted by ElectraGilde on 11/15/2012
This course is under new managment and it shows because it was going downhill under the old managers. Great conditions and the course is challenging.
The course is challenging but a lot of fun to play and the management was super friendly and nice
not worth $30, more like $15
lay out was okay, greens were very bad condition, fairway grass was not good.
A very muddy old rotten course, needing plenty of attention
unfriendly reception, Greens less than poor, fairways like a swamp and always a risk, that your cart gets stuck, millions of bugs, absolutely no indication about the bad conditions while booking on the golfnow.com Website ( 4 holes have been declared into a par 3 )
Good coarse for the money.
Nice coarse for the money. Fairways very wet because of all the rain, so I could not play back nine. Also fairways are a little narrow. Over good time.
This course should not be on golf now
As visitors to Florida, we were looking to play some quality golf for reasonable cost. We booked riverbend golf links by error (a different course with a similar name had been recommended). We drove an hour to get to this course, and were wary when we drove up. The clubhouse was in disrepair, and the bit of the golf course we could see looked like a farmer's field, not a golf course. We played the first hole, got bitten by bugs, had difficulty seeing the definition of the fairway, and picked up our balls when we arrived at the green that looked like an uncared for lawn. We left after one hole, and were given our money back (the one positive thing). We were very surprised and disappointed that this course was on golf now. We have never had this kind of experience previously.
Needs a little more maintenance.
The course has a nice setup but needs a lot more attention before I play there again. Greens had recently been redressed. Some fairways looked like they hadn't been mowed in over a week. Tee boxes were longer than some of the rough. One good thing is there was nobody else playing so I didn't have to wait.
Staff tired to pair me up with 3 other GolfNow people even though I was 30 minutes early and no one was on the Tee Box!
The course didn't tell GolfNow that they had just "AI" the greens. Alittle enoying but the greens aren't that spectacular anyways. Fairways were just mowed and large quantities of cut grass mounds left on them. Secondaries were knee high as well.
Brutal
This course is only for those who don't mind losing balls, putting on rough greens, hitting blind shots and looking for balls in high grass and ditches.
It was so wet it probably should have been closed or no carts allowed.
The woman at the "pro shop" is very unfriendly and brusque. Was made to wait 45 minutes for my tee time because "we have tee times ahead of you". To be exact one twosome of an older lady and her grandson were the only ones to play in that 45 minutes! I passed them on the first green.
I played there about 1 1/2 years ago and hoped it had improved-no.
I will not play there again and would really not recommend it to anyone. A really bad course for beginners because if you don't hit it straight you are going to lose your ball on nearly every hole.
Cool course!
Cool course, fabulous staff and great food. Overall great value!
Confidence builder...
From time to time you need to step back and go over certain basic elements of the game. This course allows you to work on your game while at the same time building some confidence. The crew does a great job maintaining the course. The land was used as a dairy farm in the past, but it has some unique features which makes it attractive.
The greens need work
Friendly staff good pace of play and what I like the most is it is a stand alone course not built in a housing community
fun little course that needs a little work
Good course to work on game. Nice for the price. Greens need some work but for 12 dollar golf now price it is worth it
This course is marginal. Needs big investment in maintenance.
This is a modest country course. Greens are small and inconsistent in their condition, there are only a few sand traps, fairways are generally narrow, have many weeds and you seldom will have a decent lie. It is an interesting layout and challenging to play because of these poor conditions.
Needs lots of work
I have passed this course for years and finally decided to play the first nine. Went to driving range first and found it was in excellent condition with plenty of grass and everything one could expect from a good driving range. I figured that if they kept up the driving range the course would be better. Unfortunately that was not the case. The fairways had very little grass and what grass that was there was way too short and did not allow for the club to hit without hitting hard ground. In some places it was hard to tell what was rough and what was fairway. The tee boxes were like the fairways. The greens were cut way too short because there was little grass allowable to cut a green so short. Some of the greens had as much ground as they did grass. All and all it was disappointing to play the course. I do have to say the staff if very friendly and they make you feel like that they are willing to be helpful and courteous. They were professional and go out of their way to help you.
Fast greens and spotty fairways.
First time I've played the course since the redesign. Much better layout. Thought the fairways would be better after a week of rain. Putting surface played like the Masters.
Course need attention
Needs some work. Layout isn't bad. Challenging, but need to maintained better.
This course has a lot of potential
This course just needs some TLC. Some greens were full and fast, others the grass was non existent. Carts were brand new. Tee boxes need to be redone. Most are not flat and have holes/hills in them.
Pretty good course for the money if you can get past the front desk...
This course has steadily improved in all areas over the past couple years since it reopened except for the lady who works the pro shop. It is always a battle (particularly if using a golfnow reservation) just getting on the course and not becoming unbelievably irritated by her rudeness. If she is not there then it is a great experience as the other staff is extremely polite. There are other courses in the local area where you can get a great golfnow discount and still feel like they are happy you chose their course.
this course is in ok shape. needs some attention
I booked this round on golfnow and for the price, it was great. but the regular asking price is a bit high. there are better deals on better courses if you look...
better than 1.5 years ago
The greens are still not good, and the fairways are better but still not good for 30$, you can tell they have worked on it,it still has alot of work to be done, its a 15 $ course
