Great Value for the $
Course was in good shape just coming out of winter.
Enjoyed the lay out of the course, greens were fast, but in good shape.
Will play it again in the spring once Winter is over..
Dry as a bone
The entire course was dry as a bone. The driving range had more dirt than grass. The course was not much better. You’d think that with all the rain over the past few months it would have been better. The ground was hard as a rock and dusty.
The greens were great and smooth - fast. The only problem was that many of the holes were slightly elevated so putts would bump by.
Otherwise - always a challenge.
Overall very nice experience
Winter conditions in Houston, so lots of issues with tighter lies than normal. Many bunkers need repairs. Greens are smooth and fast, though. Very enjoyable challenge. I'll continue to be back when I'm in town
I played a couple days after a strong rain so review is based on very wet conditions. Sand traps were ‘lakes. Balls hit into them were lost. Greens were so fast that your put may come right back at you. Tee boxes and fairways were average. Course is a very good layout and fun to Play but price should be adjusted to the course conditions.
Good course with a lot of rain problems
This is a really good golf course and the conditions were good considering the torrential rains we had lately. The bunkers suffered a lot of damage with sand washed out ponds in some of them, but other than that the course was good. Pace of play was better than normal here.
Holiday Traffic
Usually one of my favorite courses to play in Houston area. Lots of traffic on course due to holidays. Fairways a little rough. Greens looked like they had been impacted by recent wet weather.
Great conditions. Poor pace
I feel like this course packs too many tee times into the day and as such pace is slow on peak days. Just my opinion. Decent price that included range balls.
They don’t care!
This use to be a well maintained course, not sure what happened but everything is dead. No such thing as a fairway or tee box. Definitely not a $80+ course right now. You can go play other golf courses for a lot cheaper and in much much much better conditions.
The current condition this course is in i would say is equivalent to a $15 round.
It's a golf course
Going to be honest as I can be. I felt like for the price I paid even with a spectator. I felt better playing at an average course near my residence. Greens were extremely slow which was aggrevating. Fairways were like hitting off of Galveston Beach. Don't try to hit out of the bunkers cause you might as well hit off the cart path or a nearby street. The layout was really cool though, tight fairways, elevated greens and tee boxes. Lots of hazard challenges. It's just not worth the 65 a person rate at this point. The cart girl did make her round though. However they did say that their sprinkler system caught on fire a couple months prior, so I'd suggest to wait to come and play this course. I'll try again next year.
Disappointing
Course is on its way out. Only played because it was super cheap but there was no water in a single cooler during mid day and the cart girl was out of everything and was done at 4pm on a Friday. Won’t be back.
Course going downhill fast
Really have enjoyed this course for a number of years. But it is going downhill in a hurry. Getting a lot more traffic with longwood closed and hasn’t been worth the time or money.
Of all things, what is making me write this review is the fact it’s been the 3rd round in a row with no water coolers on the course past #6. Absolutely unacceptable with this heat…
As for the course conditions, Could barely stick a tee in the ground. Obviously aren’t watering enough to keep up with this heat. Have made zero effort in improving their practice areas. No marshall the last few rounds, resulting in painfully slow back 9s. Greens have always been my least favorite part..can’t seem to get them to roll consistent or true.
Was a good course, unfortunate it’s following it Longwood’s footsteps.
