1 Constant Complaint
I have not played these courses in years and I see the same biggest issue still remains. The 1 thing most people complain about is the pace of play on both courses. To put things in perspective, I offer this to Bear Creek management. Tomorrow at the Farmers Insurance Open, tee times are 11 minutes apart with groups of 3 professionals. Tomorrow, on a Saturday (which are usually very busy) you will have groups of 4 amateurs teeing off at 9 minutes apart. Amateurs don't hit fairways and greens as much as professionals, and amateurs can't find their balls as fast as professionals with spotters on the course. So if the pros need 11 minutes between groups to keep the pace of play up, don't you think amateurs need a little more time than that? PLEASE stop thinking about all the money you can make by squeezing as many people as you can on the course. You can make these courses a lot more enjoyable by spreading out the tee times so people aren't waiting every shot. This has been your biggest issue for years. Hopefully management will finally take this into consideration.
Changes
I haven’t played here since last year but I noticed changes all around and the course looks better. The outdoor area and even the indoor areas look great. Course was still a nice challenge and I noticed landscaping done to different areas on the course. I’d definitely play here again
Rushed, but great course!
First tee to go off at 6:25am. We finished with a 3 hour 45 minute pace on 18. They asked us on 4 if we could pick up the pace so we did and then we were asked mid round to skip a hole. We had to skip one of the par 3s due to “slowing the play.” After finishing our round we had realized skipping the hole was pointless. However, the course in in pristine condition and my group was great! I would play again for sure just was a different experience!
Highly Recommend!!!
Been touring DFW courses this summer. Bear Creek came highly recommended and it lived up to its reputation. Staff was great and help accommodate even though I was late for my tee time. Cart girls were very frequent and the cafe spot at the turn was very nice to grab a quick snack. Since playing their I have recommended this course to anyone I talk with and will be playing again this coming weekend. It’s the greenest course in DFW I have seen thus far which made it worth bragging about. Worth the $$$ and the challenge!
Wait a few months.
Not sure what happened to the course but the greens are in terrible shape. Dead grass everywhere. Maybe a chemical mix up or heat. I would wait a few months to play especially if they are still charging 60 dollars a round. Very frustrating for my first visit. Especially since I've been wanting to play there for a while. I'll be waiting for a while before I play again.
West course
Hit the fairway or you will spend 5 minutes looking for ur ball in the rough. Needs more water stations
What a joke
This place is a legit joke. They don’t tell you that the range is closed on certain days, no warning at all. Pace of play is horrible. You’re lucky to even see the cart girl once cause she’s just sitting around talking to staff and not doing her job. Will never play here again and would never recommend this place
Good Course, Marshall Needed
Played 6/25/23- Course was in good shape overall. the layout of the East Course is fun and very getable if you in the fairway off the tee. Started out as a single and caught two other singles that had linked up due to a 4-some playing slow. The cart girl came around 3 times in our round which was needed. Two complaints is that it was 110° out and no water coolers. I think I counted two water stations the entire time and it was like warm. There also needed to be a Marshall to get things moving. Other than that, I would definitely come back and play again.
Green is dry & rough
It is hard to read it. It is like putting on uneven hard surface. Other than that, course and staffs are great!
Great shape right now!
One of the best shapes a course is in in DFW right now. Great great and fairways.
Thank you for playing and your support. We recently dryjected our greens which is a form of aeriation that is not nearly as invasive. The greens are sandy but not damaged. We are sorry we didn't live up to a 5 star experience but we hope you will give us another chance.
