Great course. Just try and go on a nice day with not too much wind. The canyon amplifies the wind so it’s much stronger and can really turn some holes into a nerve racking experience if you don’t know how to hit low shots.
This is part of the experience.
The greens were kept in amazing condition and pace of play on a Sunday was very quick.
Ready to go back and play on a day that we don’t have 30mph wind. Lol

Lots of stupid and unnecessary rules. Cart girl needs an attitude adjustment. Don’t talk to your customers like their children. I’ve played here dozens of times over the years and my experience has progressively gotten worse. I’ve hit my boiling point and am done with this course. Management doesn’t seem to care either.

Got the most part, the course is a good solid place to play. Unfortunately, pace is recurring issue here. Also, the tee times are obviously being manipulated by the staff. Everyone who had early morning tee times were regulars and our group witnessed a patron berating a single who was teamed up with his group, not only because of the outsider bs but it was pretty clearly racially motivated.

Layout is nice accept 2-3 holes on the back are in a consistent stiff wind.

Range is mats only which is unfortunate, and the greens are pretty inconsistent. Doesn’t seem the Supe has a full staff for such a large piece of land.

I am handicapped and a senior. I really do require a cart. I pay for a cart. I need to drive it to my ball, as often as possible. This day of play, we had to start on the back nine with new holes without cart path access to fairway. Again on the front nine, same thing. Holes in addition to the regular “cart path only” were blocked from fairway access. This injured me so badly I could not finish the round and had to quit. Unacceptable. Just unacceptable. I do not endanger your course with my cart. I am very careful.

The course was in good shape; however, the check in experience at the pro shop was the worst in my 5+ years in golf career.

There was a proshop employee with hoodie on and when we tried to check in as one cart rider and one push cart walker, the pro shop employee said that one cart rider needs to pay $32 (e.g. $16 * 2) for the privilege of using an electric cart alone.

After my friend paid $32 for a single cart ride, I went back to the pro shop to explain about the unreasonableness of charging 2 cart fees for a single rider, the pro shop employee did refund $16 (e.g. 1 of 2 cart fee); however, the employee started cursing at us and asked us to leave the pro shop even though we did not use the profanities he was using.

The event could have ended more amicably since the employee did process the refund of 2nd cart fee, but there was an unjustified cursing at the customer.

Rustic Canyon is a great course with reasonable green fees, but I hope that the management could provide additional customer service training(s) and accountabilities to their pro shop employees for more positive experience to their guests and customers which will bring more returning customers and more revenues for the course in the long run.

It was a holiday so it was a little backed up on the back 9. The greens were very challenging but all in all great experience. Wish they would have been a little bit more forceful to have people increase the pace of play, but thats how it goes.

The course is in great shape but other than that it’s not worth it because you’re gonna be waiting at least 10+ minutes every Teebox! It toke over 5 1/2 hours to play. My tee time was at 12 thinking that’s plenty of time to play 18 we finished at 6. The Marshall was not enforcing rate of play and this happens every time I play there. This is the first time I actually finished a full round.

The staff has a nasty attitude especially the cart girl!!

Some holes par-5s are "cart path only" for no reason

I am a regular player at Rustic Canyon Golf Course. This is a challenging course any day, however this day was more so due to the high winds.
