Nice course
We went right after a rain and not many people playing the course. Course drains well and enjoyed our round.
Only negative, need yardage to be marked better.
Wet but drained well overall.
First time playing the course and really enjoy our round. Although it was cart path only due to all the rain we have had, course was well drained. Looks like a lot of renovations going on throughout the coarse but didn't interfere with our round. Looking forward to playing this course again.
Santa Maria
Everything I was great…it had just rained a lot in the last few days and the course held a lot of water
Great shape
Although the greens were aerated and sanded, the course is in great shape.
Hot Garbage
Gave this 1 star because 0 wasn’t an option. The two players I went with love this place but I just don’t see it. The layout is okay, but the greens were absolutely terrible. Very dry conditions, ball would not hold green or fairways. This is the second time I’ve ever played this course and twice I’ve felt like it was a waste of money and my time. This place is hot garbage, straight jankass. Will not play here again. If you wanna waste time and money, go spend less and do it at any of the other local BR courses that at minimum are proportionate to the amount of dumpster fire conditions that this place was.
The greens were the worst i've ever seen at Santa Maria. Honestly I think we deserve a rain check because we were notified of the conditions
Tough shape
The course was in tough shape, tee box all chewed up, sand traps not maintained, lots of dead barren spots on most greens and no difference between fairways and rough. Overall tough shape.
Just a gem
I enjoy the challenge of Santa Maria. Beautiful South Louisiana course.
I DIDN'T PLAY
I tried to get my money back or push it to another day but you would not let. I WILL NEVER USE THIS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Course conditions have been better and worse
I found the last 2-3 weeks the course ha been extremely dry/hard. The ball bounces and rolls forever, including in green shots.
Top 10 Public course in Southern LA
I play every Saturday, regardless of talent. I've played almost every course between Baton Rouge and Biloxi. Santa maria is in my top 5 of great courses I can play. Course layout, price, staff and amenities, not many course in this area can compete. 10 minutes after an hour rain delay, and it was still awesome. 4thumbs up from me.
Friday golf
Course layout is great, elevation changes, soft sand in bunkers, challenging design. When I played the course conditions were very dry. Due to this keeping balls on the greens from a long approach was difficult. Putting was fast and pure. Loved this course.
