Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club
About
The 18-hole Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club, half of a 36-hole layout on the property, is a semi-private course that opened in 1979.
Designed by Earl Stone, the golf course measures 6,831 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 132 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
The major challenges for both golf courses are their tree-lined fairways. The Cardinal Course is wooded and was built on gently rolling terrain. It has no parallel fairways and extra-long sand bunkers.

Enjoyed playing here. Nice weather and course condition. Played at a comfortable pace. Will play here again soon.
Beautiful golf course
This is how you treat golfers who are paying money to play ur course from the moment I showed up everything was top notch the bartender that I asked where the clubhouse was she stopped what she was doing and actually walked me to the club house(which was only a few feet away) once I got on the course the conditions were really good even though it was raining but then it started lightening I tried to wait cause I knew I wouldn’t get a rain check cause I booked on tee off but when I told them I’m from out of town they gave me a rain check then scheduled me a tee time for the next day when I showed up it was packed(Sunday) so they spent a while trying to find me a group the even asked if I wanted to play with a 2 3 or 4 person group I said I’ll go off by myself the starter told the group before I got there that if I catch up with them to either let me threw or let me join the course dried out really quickly and it was 90 degrees the course was in excellent shape greens were perfect and the elevation changes were the best feature the course flowed so perfect (I think I like this one better than the Pine their other course) thank you Diamondhead for treating me like a real customer instead of trying rush me off and get me done as soon as as possible THIS is how you treat people
Great round with the boys
Even after some rain the night before the course wasn’t wet. Greens were really nice. Fun layout
Cardinal
Played the Cardinal course. I thought it was a good course, joined up with 3 members and they definitely made it an even better experience. .

Overall I enjoyed the course. Great layout and fair. Some tight OB FAIRWAYS fair. Awesome mix of par threes
First time playing but well worth the drive and for the money
Pine is a par 76
The starter warned us that we should’ve scheduled Cardinal. Boy was he right. Members joked with us on the range too that we should’ve scheduled cardinal. Pine was a hard hard course. That being said the quality was awesome. Greens were perfect and insanely fast. Tee boxes were a bit uneven if I’m looking for complaints. Would definitely comeback. But for Cardinal only.
Awesome!
I often travel from New Orleans searching for new golf courses. This has easily become a top 5 favorite course for me.
Greatness in the Gulf Coast
The entire experience was top notch. Did not know when the tee time was booked, 2 days prior to play, that the greens had been airified a week before on the Cardinal course. The staff gave us a discount because did those. The greens we still healing but rolled pretty true. The rough was thick, so a missed shot made for difficult scoring. The fairways were the highlight. Will play again soon.
Alright course
Decent course, super slow rate of play. Sat behind a 4 some that dribbled balls to the green but wouldn’t let anyone pass. Also had multiple staff members come to talk to me about the way I dressed.. even though they all saw me in the clubhouse. I was wearing khaki shorts and a tiger woods like athletic shirt. I was told that “owner saw me and didn’t like the way I dressed”
Best Golf Course Experience!
I have played golf for 45 years, and I've played some very nice courses. Diamondhead is spectacular. The staff is friendly. The fairways are wide, and the greens are fast. No two holes are alike. The overall condition of the course was excellent. I play to play Diamondhead frequently now. The scenery was remarkable.
