Mountain Shadows Golf Course
About
The executive golf course at Mountain Shadows Golf Club in addition to being an excellent course has the added benefit of having a picturesque location nestled in the foothills of Camelback Mountain, and it also offers views of the equally majestic Mummy Mountains. The oleanders and palm trees sprinkled throughout the course enhance the pleasant atmosphere. The golf course's 18th hole boasts beautiful views of the sunset during the twilight hours but the signature hole is the par-3 12th hole. It plays uphill toward Camelback Mountain and over a pond and brook to a double-tiered green that is well protected by bunkers.

Fun, but challenging short course
Seems like an easy course, but there are a lot of hills that lead to some huge kicks. Definitely target golf with some challenging putts and pin locations.
Love this course
Mountain Shadows is a great way to start your winter golf vacation after not playing for several months. It’s a beautiful, well-maintained course with very friendly/helpful staff and an excellent 19th hole!
It’s a par 3 but it’s not easy! The greens are extremely challenging . And who doesn’t need work on their short game. We’ll play this courses again!
Most beautiful Par 3 with most expensive beer lol
I’ve never seen or played a better Par 3 course. I’ve also never paid $46 for a 6-pack of 12oz cans of beer. I literally paid more for beer than the green fees, but thoroughly enjoyed the round anyways. Great view, great people, great time!
The title of the course at the entrance is “the short course” at shadow Mountain
This course should clearly state it is a PAR 3 course in the title vs the fine print. Based on the price one could easily assume otherwise. Laughable even then carts are an upsell
As a Par 3 it is good course for a resort but way overpriced time to play was 1-1/2 hrs.
Fun Par Three Short Course
The goods- course was in good shape. Greens were fast. Fun holes. Nice mix of short, medium, and longer par threes. The 4 person party carts were fun to have everyone riding together. Clubhouse was cool. Bar area and cart girls were great. Cool views of camelback mountain.
The bads - way overpriced for what it is, the pace of play was terrible (actually had to leave after 15 holes to make another engagement that I never would have thought I would've had issues making), I understand there is only a certain amount of land to put this course on but with a lot of holes crammed together and some not so great golfers it is always good to keep a heads up for balls flying everywhere.
Would definitely play it again though.
Wonderful Short Course
This course is an absolute gem. One of my favorites in the Valley.
Awesome experience
A very well ran facility. The greens were consistently fast. Do be prepared for frustration when putting. Breaks are in their that are hard to see. Just because you put it on the green doesn’t mean you have a chance for par or birdie. You may have to putt it vertically 5 ft. If I’m looking for complaints-the tee boxes can have you in not ideal leans. I do recommend you make plans to attend the grill as their food was incredible.
Fun course
Beautifully landscaped par 3 course, very much fun to play. Greens are quick with plenty of slope. Great place to work in your short game. Very much enjoyed our day, staff very kind.
Mountain View’s and Good Times
Was out visiting friends and played Mountain Shadows. Great staff and course.
Thank you for the 5 star review.
Great conditions and fun change of pace
Great time at Mountain Shadows! Played in the afternoon and had the place to ourselves. Beautiful scenery, great conditions, and a unique layout made for a really fun day. Will definitely be coming back!
Can't wait to play again
First time playing here, won't be the last. Great place to test and work on your iron game. Had the place almost to ourselves on Labor Day. Condition and layout was top notch. Staff was friendly and helpful from the pro shop to starter. Fun little lag putt challenge after 17th hole. Only gripe (not that it would have changed my score drastically), but some of the pin placements were ridiculous. The greens themselves are challenging with their shapes and undulations, but several pins were barely two places from the fringe in really obscure areas. Would come back anytime on a hot deal for sure.
Thank you for the 5 star review. All the greens are very different and you won't get bored. Yes, some of the pin placements can be creative, but isn't that part of the fun at a Par 3 course. Look forward to your next visit.
Thank you for the 5 Star review.
