Great Beginners Course
This is a great Beginners golf course for those that are just starting out. This is not the easiest course, there are some challenging over water holes, along with a few dogleg holes. They are currently beginning restoration work on the North Course, but still playable.
Worth $19 - no more!
Chuck Corica has been under construction for FOUR years! Usually a two-course facility, has been down to one while the other is SLOWLY being re-done. The open course has been neglected and parts of it have been transformed into staging areas, excess dirt storage and whatever else the construction needed. They still charge $30 during peak hours and is absolutely not worth that. But $19 after 3pm is fine
I would recommend this north course to anyone , great place to start golfing and I cannot wait until they open the south course in may. Driving range is perfect & especially the instructors (ERIC) are Great.
Play golf.
Crazy Grass
I was done in by the strange wirey grass! It was like Zoisa. Caused alot of pop-ups and stopped allattempts at chipping and running, around the greens! Very frustrating!
Super Bowl Sunday
Arrived for my 1000 T-Time. and from the number of folks awaiting to T-off on #1...they were busy. Play went well until the 4-some in fron of us got REAL slow. 1st of all, they were T'ing from the black tees and had no business doing so. Before we even finished the front 9 the group in front of them were already a full hole ahead. An "Ambassador" came out and did nothing about getting them to speed up play. Very frustrating to say the least.
Aside from the pace of play, the course was in good shape considering they are getting ready to open the South course and making arrangements to begin renovating the North course.
Greens
While the fairways have been sprayed, the greens are in the best shape in ten years. Kudos the maintenance crew.
Course needs a lot of work. Played with some regulars and they said it was going to get redone soon, which it needs. They also said pace of play was abnormally fast. Overall a good round
A Pleasant Surprise
First time playing this course and it is up there with the best of the public courses we have played in the Bay area. The greens especially were well maintained. And despite the proximity to Oakland Airport it was actually quite pleasant and relatively quiet.
It's in Good Shape, Moderate Difficulty
Hope you like kikuyu grass. Soft greens and somewhat wide fairways. Long par 3's & short par 5's. First four holes start you off nice and easy and last four holes finish nice and easy
Shame on you
I love this place..played it lots of times..good course,
usually a good value.
BUT our tee time was right after a four person best ball tourney..
Five and a half hour
round..back up at every tee...
Not fair...
I realize that tourments pay the biils , but treat the golfer honestly.
Don't offer B.S. tee tines to the people who support you
